Santa Monica, Calif. - April 9, 2026 - STARZ announced today that women have driven The Housemaid to a record-setting debut as its best-performing Pay 1 film ever. The hit film adaptation of Freida McFadden's best-selling novel "The Housemaid," starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried broke records as the highest driver of acquisition and streaming viewership* for any Pay 1 title.

STARZ is the first exclusive streaming home for The Housemaid. It debuted on April 1 on the STARZ app, all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms as part of STARZ's multi-year theatrical film agreement with Lionsgate. Following its theatrical run, the acclaimed thriller arrives on STARZ, giving audiences the opportunity to experience twists, turns and tantalizing intrigue from home.

Directed by Paul Feig, The Housemaid is a gripping psychological thriller set in a world where perfection is an illusion, and nothing is as it seems. Attempting to escape her troubled past, Millie (Sweeney) takes a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Nina Winchester (Seyfried). What initially appears to be a fresh start soon unravels into a dangerous game of secrets, manipulation, and shifting power dynamics. Behind the polished facade of the Winchester home lies a web of shocking twists that keeps audiences guessing until the very end.

In addition to Sweeney and Seyfried, the film stars Brandon Sklenar (It Ends With Us, "1923") Michele Morrone (Another Simple Favor, Subservience), and Elizabeth Perkins ("This is Us," "Weeds").
