DESCRIPTION:
(from Netflix's press release, January 2026) Ten-year-old Miguel discovers a terrifying secret that reveals the cruelest and darkest side of adults, and specifically, his parents. It is June 1986, during the famous “Hand of God” incident during the World Cup, in a town hidden in the mountains of Veracruz, where a coffee farm once prospered. Now, the families who live there battle poverty, while a group of children spend their days playing soccer. In an abandoned house at the edge of the farm, a boy who believes he is a ghost lies inside a hole. That boy is about to become Miguel's best friend and will change his life and that of the village forever. |
