Netflix has unveiled today the official trailer and poster for She Walks in Darkness, the political thriller written and directed by Agustín Díaz Yanes, which will arrive on Netflix on October 17 following its theatrical release on October 3. She Walks in Darkness will have its global premiere in the Official Section (out of competition) at the San Sebastián Film Festival on September 24.
The film, shot in numerous locations across the Spanish and French Basque Country, stars Susana Abaitua, Andrés Gertrúdix, Iraia Elias, Raúl Arévalo, and Ariadna Gil, and is produced by the team behind Society of the Snow: Belén Atienza, Sandra Hermida, and J.A. Bayona.
She Walks in Darkness is inspired by the most significant undercover operation against ETA, a mission that became a turning point in Spain's fight against terrorism. Set during the 1990s and 2000s, the film tells the story of Amaia (played by Susana Abaitua), a young Civil Guard officer who spends more than a decade undercover within the terrorist organization, aiming to locate secret weapons caches ("zulos") hidden in southern France.
