DESCRIPTION:
(from Lifetime's press release, July 2016) Lifetime premieres the dark, psychological drama Girl in the Box, based on the true story of Colleen Stan, a young woman kidnapped and held as a sex slave for over half a decade, on Saturday, September 10 at 8pm ET/PT. Girl in the Box stars Addison Timlin (The Awkward Moment), Zane Holtz (The Perks of Being a Wall Flower) and Zelda Williams (Dead of Summer). In 1977, 22-year-old Colleen Stan (Timlin) doesn't think twice when she hitchhikes and is picked up by a young couple, Cameron (Holtz) and Janice Hooker (Williams). But the life she knows is completely ripped away when the couple abducts her and takes her to their home where Cameron tortures and sexually abuses her. For the next seven years, Colleen is imprisoned for up to 23 hours a day, in a coffin-sized box hidden beneath the couple's bed. When not incarcerated, Colleen is part of a strange new life as a live-in slave, babysitter, and victim of Cameron's bizarre and extreme sexual fantasies. |
