Universal Television is behind the hour with Nikki Reed also serving an executive producer. (THR.com)
CHARMED (The CW) - Aleyse Shannon and Constantine Rousouli are both slated to recur on the reboot series. She'll play Jada Shields: "Independent and fierce, Jada Shields knows what she wants and how to get it. She's openly gay and grabs Mel's attention after flirting with her at a bar. Despite her forthrightness, Jada remains a mystery, one Mel is determined to solve." As an activist short seller, Adefolke will wield her billion-dollar hedge fund as a sword to eviscerate predatory corporations that exploit the poor, all while navigating the unscrupulous world of the Girabaldi family who are the center of New York City's black aristocracy where money, privilege, and racism intersect in sometimes insidious ways." The former will play Yanko Flores, "the charming weatherman who has an artist's soul and thinks meteorology is poetry"; while the latter is set as Chip Black, "the show's executive producer." Steve Carell, Billy Crudup and Gugu Mbatha-Raw also star. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED GAEL GARCIA BERNAL PROJET (Showtime, New!) - Gael García Bernal is attached to star in a new drama for the pay channel which "centers on a Mexican-American family man living undocumented in the United States. When his wife is detained by ICE, desperate and resourceful undocumented immigrant Marco (Bernal) assumes the identity of an immigration officer to rescue her."
