BLACK LIGHTNING (The CW) - Executive producer Salim Akil has been accused of "repeated non-consensual assault and battery by a woman who says she was the married man's lover for over a decade." The news broke after said woman, Amber Dixon Brenner, filed a complaint for domestic violence and a breach of contract lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this month. (Deadline.com)
BLACK-ISH (ABC) - Dara Reneé has scored a recurring role on the veteran comedy as Stunts, "a friend of Dre's (Anthony Anderson) young cousin Kyra (Quvenzhané Wallis)." (Deadline.com)
CITY OF GHOSTS (The CW, New!) - Karen Wyscarver and Sanford Golden are developing a TV series based on Victoria Schwab's book of the same name at the netlet, about "after a near-death experience, college grad Cassidy moves to Scotland to study paranormal psychology at the University of Edinburgh in hopes of learning more about her strange connection to the afterlife. There she meets the enigmatic Dr. Barrow and discovers that her gift is more powerful that she ever thought possible." I. Marlene King and Lauren Wagner of Long Lake Media will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Variety.com)
MARVEL'S DAREDEVIL (Netflix) - The streaming service has opted not to move forward with a fourth season of the series. Said the network: "While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel." (Deadline.com)
PEOPLE JUST DO NOTHING (Amazon) - Jorge Diaz, Eliza Bennett, Andre Hyland, Conner McVicker and Amir Talai have all been cast in the comedy pilot, a domestic take on the U.K. series about "a group of working class DJs and their friends in a town called North Las Vegas." Diaz will play Koyote, "a charming, handsome blowhard, and the leader of a DJ crew called Whet Desert"; with Bennett as Krystal, "Koyote's girlfriend and the mother of their daughter, Kitty"; Hyland as Beats, "Koyote's dopey sidekick and childhood best friend"; McVicker as Brody, "an enthusiastic, drug-addled former pro skater with a terrible memory and great hair"; and Talai as Farouk, "an exuberant, fast-talking huckster and owner of a local auto-body shop." (Deadline.com)
PREACHER (AMC) - The cable channel has commissioned a fourth season of the series. Production on the series however will relocate to Australia early next year. (Deadline.com)
PUSHOVER (ABC, New!) - Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters have sold a new drama to the Alphabet about "a woman who has been "nice" all her life and decides to become a villain, with the help of her landlord, the office custodian, and the IT department." Said duo will write and executive produce via their ABC Studios-based Fazekas & Butters banner with Robert Atwood producing. (Deadline.com)
SAVE THE DELI (NBC, New!) - Lauren Bachelis has sold a multi-camera comedy to the Peacock about "a 30-year-old woman, who much to the shock of her family, friends and mostly herself, becomes the new owner of her Chicago family deli after her grandfather dies. Naturally, her very opinionated staff and family members make the job unbearable since they all have conflicting ideas of how to save the deli." The project is based on David Sax's book of the same name with DiVide Pictures' Milo Ventimiglia and Russ Cundiff also set to executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
SNEAKY PETE (Amazon) - Chad Lindberg has been tapped for a recurring role on the show's third season as Randy Hellman, "a well-meaning beach bum caught up over his head in with a bunch of criminals." (Deadline.com)
STARGIRL (DC Universe) - Yvette Monreal and Christopher James Baker have both been cast in yet-to-be-revealed roles on the upcoming original series. (@TheDCUniverse)
UNTITLED TAYLOR KITSCH PROJECT (HBO, New!) - Taylor Kitsch is attached to star in a new drama at the pay channel and Entertainment One about Chris Klug (Kitsch), "a young, family oriented, drug dealer who catches the wrong end of a bad batch of dope that leaves him in a temporary vegetative state, only to discover that it was no accident and someone close to him was in fact trying to take him out. Told through flashbacks and Chris' present-day purgatory, the series is a rich family drama full of revenge, love and humor as Chris Klug fights his way back." Writer John Barcheski and director Matt Shakman are behind the project with Robert Munic serving as showrunner. All three will executive produce alongside Kitsch. (Deadline.com)
