BOOTS (Netflix) - The streamer has pulled the plug on the newcomer after one season. (Deadline.com, 12/15)
DIG (Peacock) - Antonia Thomas, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Fina Strazza will star opposite Amy Poehler and Hugh Laurie in the comedy series. Thomas will play Clare, "who oversees the dig site's lab/museum as head preservationist. She's most comfortable in a world of privilege and is slightly off-foot in the casual cargo-clad world of the dig." Viswanathan then is Dylan, "who after a five-year absence, returns to the dig in Greece on a whim to take care of some unfinished business." And Strazza is Patty, "the undergraduate assistant to Laurie's Neville, a British professor who sincerely loves archaeology. Patty is in way over her head and the dig represents the first time she has ever been outside of the U.S." (Deadline.com, 12/19)
DO YOU WANT KIDS? (ABC) - Daniel Stern has been cast in the Rachel Bloom/Rory Scovel-led comedy pilot as Freddy, "the gruff patriarch of the Zilbalodis family." Additionally, Trent O'Donnell has signed on to direct and executive produce. (Deadline.com, 12/16)
ELSBETH (CBS) - J. Smith-Cameron will appear in an upcoming episode as Isadora, aka Izzy, "the director of New York's most prestigious debutante ball. When the father of a current deb turns out to be the man who humiliated Izzy at her own introduction to society, this Queen Bee of Manhattan society takes her meticulously planned revenge." FALL AND RISE OF REGGIE DINKINS, THE (NBC) - The Tracy Morgan-led newcomer has tapped the following guest stars: Heidi Gardner as Tisha Basmati, "the glamorous, passive-aggressive wife of Reggie's (Morgan) long-time rival, who hates Reggie's ex-wife/current business manager Monica (Erika Alexander) just as much as her husband hates Reggie"; Anna Camp as Narcissa Ocean, "Arthur's wild ex who he blames for his career implosion"; Ronny Chieng as Barry, "a slick, aggressive, powerful sports agent who tries to poach Monica for his own company and force her to drop Reggie as a client"; and Corbin Bernsen as Duck Donovan, "Reggie's former NFL coach who blames Reggie for his own life falling on hard times post-scandal." FOSTER DADE (Hulu) - The YA drama pilot has added Joaquin Consuelos as Colby who "projects confidence and revels in his status as a senior prefect in Brennan House"; Sam Trammell as Jim Dade, "father of Foster (Jack Alldridge), the kind of husband and father who can be depended upon to be undependable"; and Heather Burns as Charlotte Dade, "Foster's caring, well-meaning, easily charmed, just-divorced mother who spends her copious free time with the three Ws: work, working out and wine." FROM SCRATCH (Peacock) - The David Moscow-hosted documentary series has found a new home on Peacock. Season six will drop in two parts: the first on December 15 and the second in March 2026. Seasons one and two aired on FYI with seasons three through five on Tastemade. (Deadline.com, 12/17)
LAST FRONTIER, THE (Apple TV) - The Jason Clarke-led drama has been canceled after one season. (Variety.com, 12/19)
MORNING SHOW, THE (Apple TV) - Creator Kerry Ehrin has signed a multi-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television to develop new series projects via her Bad Attitude Entertainment banner. (THR.com, 12/15)
NCIS: TONY & ZIVA (Paramount+) - The spin-off series will not return for a second season. "We feel incredibly lucky to have had the chance to play these characters once again and to tell the next chapter of Tony and Ziva's story," stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo said in a joint statement. "Our deepest thanks go to our extraordinary cast, crew, writers, directors, and producers, and to our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+ who helped make this dream a reality. But most of all, we want to thank the fans around the world who joined us on this adventure and finally got to see Tony and Ziva find their happily ever after." (Deadline.com, 12/19)
PAGANS (Netflix) - Drew Goddard and Sarah Esberg of Goddard Textiles have joined the supernatural drama, from creator Joshua Zetumer, as executive producers. The company's Andrea Massaro will also serve as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com, 12/15)
PITT, THE (HBO Max) - The show's sophomore run has added Rusty Schwimmer as Monica Peters, "a hospital clerk"; Jayne Taini as Evelyn Bostick, "an Emergency Department patient with Alzheimer's"; Annabelle Toomey as Kylie Conners, "a patient in the Emergency Department"; Meta Golding as Noelle Hastings, "a nurse"; Luke Tennie as Dr. Crus Henderson, "a PTMC Night shift 4th year resident"; Christopher Thornton as Dr. Caleb Jefferson, "a PTMC Psychiatric Attending"; and Travis Van Winkle as Curtis Larson, "an aggressive patient of the ER." POINT BREAK (AMC, New!) - David Kalstein is spearheading a TV series at the network based on the 1991 film starring Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves, Lori Petty, and Gary Busey: "The series is set 35 years after the events of the original film and is focused on a dangerous heist crew with ties to the Ex-Presidents gang." Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, and Ben Roberts will also executive produce for Alcon Television Group and AMC Studios. (Deadline.com, 12/15)
PROBABILITY OF MIRACLES, THE (Amazon) - The streamer has greenlit an eight-part series adaptation of Wendy Wunder's novel: "The series follows Campbell Cooper, an acerbic teenager dying of cancer who, after receiving a terminal diagnosis, moves with her mom and younger sister to the town of Promise, where miracles are said to happen. Cam, however, doesn't believe in miracles. How could she when science says she's definitely going to die? But as she spends her summer in this quirky, mystical town, she discovers that miracles - and falling in love - are still possible, no matter how improbable they may seem." The project, originally set up at HBO Max in 2021, comes from Katie Lovejoy. Leslie Morgenstein will also executive produce for Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television, and Amazon MGM Studios. REGENCY (CBS, New!) - Tara Hernandez has landed a multi-camera comedy pilot at the Eye: "Regency is a historical spin on the classic multi-cam family sit-com, centered around the upper-middle class Tillbrooks as they navigate life, love, and scandal in 19th Century England." She'll write and executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com, 12/18)
SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE (NBC) - Veteran cast member Bowen Yang will exit the series after tomorrow night's show. Yang joined the show as a writer in 2018 and a performer in 2019. (Deadline.com, 12/19)
SHIFTING GEARS (ABC) - Angela Kinsey will guest star later this season as Lynn, "a woman Matt (Tim Allen) meets via a traditional values dating app. Matt and Lynn immediately hit it off and have a lot in common, but it's clear that something is amiss." (TVLine.com, 12/16)
SPOT, THE (Hulu) - Macon Blair, Daveed Diggs, and Michael Patrick Thornton have been cast in the drama series starring Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor. No details about their roles however were given. (Deadline.com, 12/15)
SPOTLESS (NBC, New!) - Noah Rose Keeling has sold a new drama to the network: "It follows chaotic cool mom Bridget and her awkward-but-brilliant adult daughter Marnie. The pair are expanding their crime scene cleanup business into a private eye side hustle as they navigate their complex, but ride-or-die, relationship." Annabel Oakes is also on board to executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com, 12/16)
TOMB RAIDER (Amazon) - Jason Isaacs is the latest bound for the live-action series in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Deadline.com, 12/18)
UNTITLED KURT SUTTER PROJECT (MGM+, New!) - Kurt Sutter has booked a potential drama at the network: "Set in 1950s Los Angeles, the noir drama centers on a private investigator dealing with crime and dirty cops in the shadow of glamorous Hollywood, I hear." He'll write and executive produce via his SutterInk banner. (Deadline.com, 12/15)
UNTITLED MIRANDA LAMBERT PROJECT (Hulu, New!) - Judalina Neira is developing a new drama at the streamer inspired by the music of country superstar Miranda Lambert: "Billed as Big Little Lies gone honky-tonk, the series follows a messy female friendship as one friend helps the other escape her abusive marriage. But when they try to start over in a small Texas town, their past will threaten to catch up to them, and they'll discover their new home has as many secrets as they do." Shopkeeper Management's Marion Kraft will executive produce alongside said duo for Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com, 12/18)
