Pilot Update: March 13, Part 1

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from various wire reports each morning:

111 GRAMERCY PARK (ABC) - Emmy winner Peter Strauss has joined the cast of the Alphabet drama pilot.

ALL OF US (A.K.A. UNTITLED SMITHS PROJECT) (UPN) - Duane Martin ("Getting Personal") has signed on for the lead role in the UPN comedy which is based loosely on the lives of Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith. Stan Lathan is directing the half-hour from Warner Bros. and Overbrook TV.

ALLIGATOR POINT (NBC) - Jaime Pressly ("Not Another Teen Movie"), Jim Rash ("The Naked Truth") and James McDaniel ("N.Y.P.D. Blue") are set to join Nathan Fillion in the NBC comedy. The series, from Grammnet Prods. and scribe Robert Peacock, is set at a restaurant in the Deep South and focuses on the lives of a fisherman, his ex-wife and an eccentric cast of characters.

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT (FOX) - Portia de Rossi ("Ally McBeal") is set to join Jason Bateman in the Fox comedy pilot from 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine. She'll portray the sister of Bateman's lead character, a straight-laced man who must take over his family business when his father goes to jail.

THE BIG WIDE WORLD OF CARL LAEMKE (FOX) - Bob Odenkirk ("Mr. Show") will star in the Fox pilot he's also executive producing about a suburban dad and his family. Beth Littleford ("The Daily Show") has signed on to play his wife.

COME TO PAPA (NBC) - Oscar winner Shirley Jones has signed on to the NBC comedy pilot.

FAMILY CURSE (A.K.A. SHADOW WALKERS) (WB) - Ted McGinley ("Married... With Children"), Lindsay Frost ("The Ring"), Brian Sites ("Eight Simple Rules") and Britt Irvin ("Taken") have joined the cast of the drama pilot from Dan Angel & Billy Brown, comes from Regency TV.

FEARLESS (WB) - Eric Balfour ("Veritas"), Ian Somerhalder ("Young Americans") and Bianca Lawson ("Save the Last Dance") are set in the roles of Ryan, Jordan and Harmony respectively in the Warner Bros. TV and Jerry Bruckheimer TV pilot.

KID MAYOR (WB) - Harry Groener (also the mayor in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") has joined the cast of the comedy. Sony Pictures TV is producing the laffer, which comes from Adam Sandler, Doug Robinson, Adam Resnick and Jack Giarraputo.

THE O.C. (FOX) - Tate Donovan ("Mister Sterling") and Adam Brody ("Gilmore Girls") have joined the McG and Josh Schwartz Fox drama pilot from Warner Bros. TV and Wonderland Prods. Donovan will play the father of Mischa Barton's character while Brody has been cast as Peter Gallagher's son. The project revolves around a street-smart teen who winds up in the high-class society of Orange County.

PARTNERS (ABC) - Rick Hoffman ("Philly") has been cast in the role of detective Terlesky in the drama pilot. Marc Buckland is directing with Nena Rodrigue, scribe Kerry Ehrin and Jim Parriott executive producing.

UNTITLED TRACY MORGAN PROJECT (NBC) - Rapper Heavy D ("Boston Public") has joined the cast of NBC's Tracy Morgan pilot.

UNTITLED TOM HERTZ PROJECT (ABC) - Emily Rutherford ("The Ellen Show") has joined the cast of ABC's untitled Tom Hertz project in the role of Mary.
