[06/28/04 - 12:00 AM] NBC Juggles 'Last Comic Standing,' 'Next Action Star' By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC) |
|
LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC is performing some early surgery on its summer schedule, as the network plans to split its two Tuesday series "Last Comic Standing" and "Next Action Star" starting later this week.
The pair will air as previously announced on Tuesday after which "Star" will move to Wednesdays at 8:00/7:00c the following night. NBC will then run encores of "Last Comic Standing" in "Star's" old Tuesday, 8:00/7:00c slot. The network had previously intended to run said encores in "Star's" new Wednesday slot (read the story).
"Star" has been far from a bright spot for the Peacock this summer. The series has averaged almost half of "Standing's" draw in adults 18-49 for its two regular time slot airings so far this season (2.3 vs. 4.7 on June 15 and 2.1 vs. 3.9 on June 22 according to preliminary fast national data). Overall, "Star" has yet to eclipse its casting special numbers on June 14 (2.5 rating).
To review, here's a breakdown of NBC's Tuesday and Wednesday schedules for the next two weeks:
