BURBANK � October 26, 2004 � On Halloween Eve, NBC gives viewers a scare with "SCI FI Saturday," featuring the network's first-time broadcasts of SCI FI's hit reality series "Scare Tactics" (starring Stephen Baldwin) and new break-out series "Ghost Hunters" on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 8-10 p.m. (ET). The announcement was made by Jeff Gaspin, President, NBC Universal Cable Entertainment & Cross-Network Strategy.

"We're hoping to bring a broader audience to these SCI FI hits. This is also great example of the NBC Universal cross-network cooperation." said Gaspin.

On October 30, two half-hour episodes of "Scare Tactics" will be broadcast back-to-back at 8-8:30 p.m. and 8:30-9 p.m. (ET). "Ghost Hunters" will follow from 9-10 p.m. (ET).

SCI FI launched "SCI FI Wednesday," its daring new night of original, alternative reality programming on October 6. The block gives viewers a taste of SCI FI's reality TV and features the return of the hit series "Scare Tactics" -- with new host Stephen Baldwin, as well as the brand-new supernatural sensation "Ghost Hunters" (along with a third series, "Proof Positive")�intriguingly original shows that push the boundaries of original sci-fi programming.

In three weeks on the schedule, "Scare Tactics" and "Ghost Hunters" have helped the cable network increase its Wednesday primetime delivery among adults 18-49 by 27 percent versus third-quarter averages. "Ghost Hunters" has attracted 982,000 18-49 viewers and 1.6 million viewers overall in the Wednesday 9-10 p.m. hour and has ranked in the Wednesday cable top 10 in 18-49 with all three of its telecasts to date. "Scare Tactics" has averaged 776,000 18-49 viewers and 1.2 million viewers overall in the Wednesday 10-11 p.m. hour.

"Scare Tactics" (Wednesdays, 10-10:30 p.m. ET) is an audacious original series that takes the hidden camera to all new heights. Set up by their friends and family, unsuspecting victims find themselves trapped in totally twisted sci-fi and horror movie scenarios. SCI FI is currently featuring all-new episodes with an outrageous new host, feature-film star and reality TV hero Stephen Baldwin. "Scare Tactics" is produced by Hallock & Healey Entertainment.

Plumbers by day - ghost hunters by night � that sums up "Ghost Hunters" (Wednesdays, 10-10:30 p.m. ET). This one-hour weekly docu-soap from the creator/executive producer of "American Chopper," follows a group of real-life ghostbusters as they investigate a variety of hauntings, encountering every type of imaginable circumstance. Plumbers by trade, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, head-up T.A.P.S. -- The Atlantic Paranormal Society -- a team that includes a demonologist who pays the bills with a retail sales job, a field interviewer who happens to be an environmental engineer and a former priest who specializes in expelling spirits. These intrepid souls are ordinary, everyday people with an interest in solving otherworldly disturbances. Hawes, Wilson and their team of moonlighting ghost hunters are our first and last defense against uninvited paranormal visitations. The series is executive-produced by Tom Thayer and Craig Piligian of Pilgrim Films.
