NBC'S '10.5: APOCALYPSE' BEGINS FILMING IN MONTREAL

NEW YORK - June 8, 2005 - Emmy-Award winner Kim Delaney ("NYPD Blue," "CSI: Miami"), multiple Emmy-Award and Golden Globe winner Beau Bridges ("The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom," "Without Warning: The James Brady Story") and David Cubitt ("Murder at the Presidio," "Medium") will reprise their roles from NBC's highly-rated hit miniseries "10.5" in the action-packed sequel "10.5: Apocalypse," which began filming in Montreal last week.

Frank Langella ("Superman Returns"), Carlos Bernard ("24"), Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon ("NYPD Blue"), Dean Cain ("The Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story"), Oliver Hudson ("The Mountain"), Tamara Hope ("Shall We Dance"), Carly Pope ("Popular"), Melissa Sue Anderson ("Little House on the Prairie"), and Barbara Eve Harris ("ER") will also star in the two-part miniseries. "10.5: Apocalypse" is slated to air on NBC later this year.

Howard Braunstein, Michael Jaffe ("Elvis"), and Gary Pearl ("Liberty Stands Still") - whose childhood nightmare served as the basis of the original "10.5" - return as the executive producers. John Lafia ("Child's Play," "The Dead Zone") returns to write and direct and also serve as co-executive producer of the new miniseries.

In "10.5: Apocalypse," the deadly seismic activities that peaked with a 10.5 earthquake and devastated the west coast in the first miniseries resume to jeopardize North America, causing catastrophic events. In a desperate bid to save lives - and the country - President Hollister (Bridges) calls upon one of the nation's top seismologists, controversial scientist Dr. Samantha Hill (Delaney), to interpret the latest onslaught of quakes. Hill has a new theory based on her father's (Langella) much-discredited hypothesis from years past that if correct, predicts even greater ruin.

"We are shooting this sequel on Digital which is allowing us to achieve a whole new level of visual effects and style that have heretofore not been seen on network television," said Lafia. "Also, the actors flocking to the project is very rewarding to me personally and shows their faith in the material."
