IFC Opens Up Shop Online�
The Independent Film Channel (IFC) launches the IFC Store online today at www.ifc.com, providing a new service to its viewers and a new revenue stream for the 'tv, uncut' network. IFC original series & docs DVDs, IFC Films DVDs, and IFC "swag" (merchandise) will be among the items available for purchase. Many of the products will be exclusive to the IFC Store - either indefinitely or for a limited time before they are available at additional retail outlets. Purchases can be made online, or by calling a toll-free number provided on the website.
Recently revamped, IFC's website serves as the online destination for all things "uncut." IFC's "film fanatics" can log on for exclusive online content including: episodes of IFC's new original series HOPELESs Pictures, Greg the Bunny and The Festival, which premiered online one week before debuting on-air; up-to-the-minute film-related news from the "Captain's Blog" (written by IFC general manager, Evan Shapiro) and "The IFC Blog"; as well as special online sweepstakes. IFC.com traffic is at an all-time high, up 43% from last year.
