Lifetime Encourages Subscribers to 'Switch From DISH' in Partnership With Cable Operators in 4 Markets

- Sweepstakes Winner in Each Market to Receive $3,000 42-inch High Definition Plasma Television -

- First 100 Subscribers Who 'Switch from DISH' Qualify for $100 American Express(R) Gift Cards -

NEW YORK, Jan. 13 -- Lifetime is encouraging DISH subscribers to "Switch from DISH" in an aggressive marketing partnership with cable operators in four selected markets -- Houston, TX; Orlando, FL; Albuquerque, NM and Greenville SC.

Lifetime's cable partners are Time Warner Cable in Houston, Brighthouse Networks in Orlando, Comcast in Albuquerque, and Charter in Greenville.

To support this campaign, on Saturday and Sunday (January 14 and 15), representatives of the cable operators will be at a local mall in each of the four markets to sign up disgruntled DISH subscribers, and offer their own "Switch from DISH" promotions. The first 100 people each day who "Switch from DISH" qualify for a $100 American Express(R) Gift Cards provided by Lifetime.

In addition to the cable operators' offers, Lifetime also will hold a special "Switch from DISH" sweepstakes at each mall location, the winner of which will receive a $3,000 42-inch High Definition plasma television. These local activities will be complemented by advertising in local newspapers, radio and television.

Betty Cohen, President and Chief Executive Officer, Lifetime Entertainment Services, said, "DISH's competitors recognize the unique value that Lifetime brings to women subscribers through our award-winning programming and unique support of issues of vital importance to women. While DISH is asking women subscribers to pay more and get less of their favorite programs, cable providers are offering great incentives for subscribers to switch from DISH. We're still trying to reach a fair and reasonable agreement with DISH. But as long as Lifetime is kept off the air by DISH, we have no choice but to fight back and help women take back their Lifetime."

The "Switch from Dish" events will be held at the following locations and times:

Houston, Texas Willowbrook Mall -- 2000 Willowbrook Mall Saturday, January 14th 10 AM - 6 PM and Sunday, January 15th 12 PM - 6 PM Cable partner: Time Warner Cable

Albuquerque, New Mexico Coronado Center - 6600 Menaul NE Saturday, January 14th 10 AM - 6 PM and Sunday, January 15th 11 AM - 6 PM Cable partner: Comcast

Greenville, South Carolina Haywood Mall - 700 Haywood Road Saturday, January 14th 10 AM - 6 PM and Sunday, January 15th 12:30 PM - 6 PM Cable partner: Charter

Orlando, Florida Altamonte Mall - 451 Altamonte Ave. Saturday, January 14th 10 AM - 6 PM and Sunday, January 15th 11 AM - 6 PM Cable partner: Brighthouse Networks
