NBC'S "LAST COMIC STANDING" TO BE REVEALED ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9; JAY MOHR GUEST STARS IN MUST-SEE FINALE ALONG WITH PREVIOUS SHOW WINNERS DAT PHAN, JOHN HEFFRON AND ALONZO BODDEN

BURBANK, Calif. � August 3, 2006 � The winner of NBC's hot summer series "Last Comic Standing" will finally be revealed in a must-see 90-minute season finale airing Wednesday, August 9 from 8:00-9:30 p.m. ET. Jay Mohr will make a special guest appearance and perform, along with previous "Last Comic Standing" winners Dat Phan, John Heffron and Alonzo Bodden. Anthony Clark ("Yes, Dear") hosts the Emmy-nominated series, which was recently picked up by NBC for another season and will return to the network next summer.

The lively finale will also feature talent scouts Bob Read and Ross Mark sharing the best � and the worst � from the nationwide auditions that kicked off this season. In addition, the winner of NBC.com's online comedy competition will appear, along with this season's "Last Comic Standing" contestants who have already been eliminated.

On the penultimate episode airing Tuesday, August 8 (9-10 p.m. ET) � the night before the season finale -- one more comic will be eliminated, revealing the top two contenders left to compete for the coveted title of "Last Comic Standing" along with an exclusive talent contract with NBC and their own comedy special on Bravo. Comedian Paul Rodriguez will also make a special appearance on this episode, along with Theo Von and Josh Wolf, the top two finalists from NBC.com's online comedy competition.

"Last Comic Standing" is produced by Peter Engel Productions, Magical Elves and NBC Universal Television Studio. The executive producers are Peter Engel ("Saved By the Bell," "City Guys"), Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz (Bravo's "Project Runway" and NBC's "Treasure Hunters") and Barry Katz ("Action," "Dane Cook's Tourgasm").
