New York, NY - August 9, 2006 - NBC Universal Cable (NBCUC) and SCI FI Channel will premiere "Battlestar Galactica: The Story So Far," a never-before-seen recap special from the award-winning series, "Battlestar Galactica" on Free On Demand (FOD) and broadband in advance to the season 3 premiere Oct. 6.

Beginning Aug. 28, viewers will get a chance to catch up on the hit series on demand and broadband with "Battlestar Galactica: The Story So Far," a 44-minute series recap special of seasons 1 and 2. Select full-length episodes from the best of both seasons will also be available plus a 2-minute weekly sneak peek of upcoming episodes from the new season.

To help promote season 3, "NBCUC created the "Battlestar Galactica Everywhere" multi-platform promotion that will allow affiliates to sign up and drive awareness for "Battlestar Galactica" as well as attract new and current subscribers to their digital VOD and broadband offerings. Thus far, participating affiliates include Bresnan Communications, Charter, Comcast, Mediacom Communications, Patriot Media, Time Warner Cable and Verizon among others.

"We've been highly successful in implementing these multi-platform promotions where we can use a valuable asset like 'Battlestar Galactica' to help our affiliates and advertisers maximize their products and target a young tech-savvy demo," commented Jean-Briac Perrette, senior vice president, New Media and chief financial officer, NBCUC.

In addition, SCI FI Channel has created broadband content including an executive producer video blog tracing the technical side of the show and audio podcasts featuring 45-minutes worth of commentary from previous episodes. SCI FI will also offer advertisers the opportunity to sponsor these unique new media offerings.

NBCUC will provide affiliates with a media-rich marketing campaign for the "Battlestar Galactica Everywhere" promotion including TV and radio spots, print and online ads to help drive awareness. All materials can be found on www.nbcunicable.com beginning Aug. 15. Additionally, the promotion will include a local ad sales component, offering affiliates in select markets the opportunity to win round trip tickets for two and hotel accommodations in Seattle. Winners will get a VIP tour of the city where they will visit The Science Fiction and Hall of Fame museum plus VIP tickets to the season finale viewing party in March, complete with talent meet and greet.

"This promotion is a terrific local ad sales opportunity for our affiliates to sell to local advertisers for incremental revenue, especially when they can leverage such a top-rated and established show like 'Battlestar Galactica,'" said Brian Hunt, vice president, National Accounts, Affiliate Field Marketing and Local Ad Sales, NBCUC.
