TUNE IN TO COMEDY CENTRAL AND DO THE WRIGHT THING! THE WORLD PREMIERE OF "STEVEN WRIGHT: WHEN THE LEAVES BLOW AWAY" DEBUTS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21 AT 9:00 P.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEW YORK, Monday, October 9, 2006 -- The master of deadpan delivery, Steven Wright takes the stage and wins his audience with all-new laughs and brilliant non-sequiturs. The World Premiere of the all-new stand-up special, "Steven Wright: When The Leaves Blow Away" debuts on COMEDY CENTRAL Saturday, October 21 at 9:00 p.m.
Encore presentations air Saturday, October 21 at 11:00 p.m. and Monday, October 23 at 10:00 p.m.
From the Elgin Theatre in Toronto, Steven Wright delivers non-sequiturs and surreal stories in his trademark monotone. Wright points out the link between Santa Claus and Jesus and asks the question: What's so new about the New Testament? Plus, watch as he covers the pros and cons of babies and his friends who have them and touches on the importance of speaking other languages. Tune in to COMEDY CENTRAL October 21 for clever comedy that will make viewers think to themselves while laughing out loud.
In addition to his stand-up performances, Wright has acted in many films and received multiple awards for his accomplishments within the world of comedy. In 1986, Wright was nominated for Grammy for his debut album "I Have A Pony" and in 1989, he received an Academy Award for the short film "The Appointment of Dennis Jennings," which he co-wrote and starred in. Wright has acted in films including Oliver Stone's "Natural Born Killers," "So I Married An Ax Murderer," "Reservoir Dogs" and "The Aristocrats." The comedian is a regular on "Late Night with Conan O' Brien," "Late Show with David Letterman" and "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and continues to tour throughout the United States, Canada and overseas.
