�Boston Legal� Receives Two Nominations,
Including Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series;
James Spader Nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series
Disney-ABC Television Group series received eight nominations -- including recognitions for �Grey�s Anatomy,� �Boston Legal,� �Desperate Housewives� and �Ugly Betty� -- for the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, which were announced this morning.
Touchstone Television, which produces three of the nominated series, currently has the #1 (�Grey's Anatomy�), #2 (�Desperate Housewives�) and #3 (�Lost�)-rated primetime shows for the season in Adults 18-49, the first studio ever to have the top three primetime programs in the history of the Nielsen People Meter. First-time Comedy Ensemble nominee �Ugly Betty� is the #1-rated new comedy of the season in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.
Two-time Screen Actors Guild nominee �Grey�s Anatomy� received two nominations, including Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series � for Chandra Wilson, her first nomination for her portrayal of Dr. Miranda Bailey, the tough-as-nails doctor who both terrorizes and nurtures her interns.
This season�s critically acclaimed newcomer, �Ugly Betty,� received two nominations, including Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series as well as America Ferrera�s first nomination for her role as the reluctant beauty Betty Suarez.
Previous Screen Actors Guild comedy ensemble winner �Desperate Housewives� received two nominations, including a repeat nomination for last year�s winner Felicity Huffman, nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category.
In addition to �Boston Legal�s� Drama Series nomination, James Spader is recognized with his second straight Actor nomination for his role as Alan Shore, the high priced eccentric litigator at Crane Poole & Schmidt.
The 2007 Screen Actors Guild Awards will be presented Sunday, January 28, 2007 in Los Angeles.
