A&E ANNOUNCES FIRST SCRIPTED DRAMA SERIES DEVELOPMENT SLATE IN MORE THAN FIVE YEARS

PASADENA, CA January 9, 2007 A&E Network is returning to the production of original scripted dramas with an initial development slate consisting of six projects, it was announced today by Bob DeBitetto, Executive Vice President and General Manager of A&E Network.

With powerful platforms such as The Sopranos, CSI: Miami and our original real-life franchises, the development of our own signature drama series now becomes a key priority, said DeBitetto. This initial slate reflects our commitment to developing original drama that complements these platforms and puts a premium on great character, storytelling and A auspices.

Senior Vice President of Drama Programming, Tana Nugent Jamieson joined A&E in April, 2006 to oversee the networks first comprehensive drama series development effort in more than five years. Jamieson and her LA-based team, including Vice President of Original Drama Programming Scott Vila, spearheaded development of this slate which will continue to grow, including:

DRY RIVER

DRY RIVER is a crime drama set in a wealthy Texas border community and focusing on the local sheriff and the Federal agent newly assigned to the city who, clashing over vastly different crime-fighting agendas, carry the extra burden of being an estranged father and son. Their personal relationship will play out amidst cases of trafficking in all its forms, inextricably linked to the birth of a child in the no man's land between the United States and Mexico. Joel Silver (The Matrix, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard) is the executive producer. Michael Frost Beckner (Spy Game) will write the script for DRY RIVER from Warner Horizon Television.

UNTITLED STEVEN BOCHCO PROJECT

A happily married couple are partners in a family law practice specializing in divorce clients. The series will focus on the lawyers and their serious and not-so-serious cases. The series will be executive produced by 10-time Emmy Award winner Steven Bochco (Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, LAPD Blue) and written by Jonathan Abrahams (Wildfire).

THE HUNT

A former LAPD cop who served time in prison for his part in the Rampart Scandal finds himself outside the criminal justice system looking in. Unlike most crime procedurals, THE HUNT will spend ample time with each week's villain. Created by prolific feature scribe Sheldon Turner (The Longest Yard, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), and to be produced by Jennifer Klein through her Apartment 3B Productions shingle.

Y3

A thief seeking redemption from a crime gone terribly awry, wears an NYPD cop uniform to help solve crimes, earning the moniker Y3, the police code for impersonating an officer. Y3 temps at a precinct, using his access to solve cases, all the while working right under the noses of the police task force charged with finding him. Dan Therriault (Witness Protection, Cabrini Green, First Time Felon) will write and is also executive producer. Executive producer Gary Randall will produce through Fox Television Studios.

UNTITLED NYPD ANTI-TERRORIST PROJECT

A secretive anti-terrorist unit of the NYPD, born out of the 9/11 attacks, protects the city which terrorists see as the crown jewel of targets, but also travels across the US in its mission to track down terrorists targeting America. Andrew Tennenbaum (The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy) and Jason Hoffs (Meet the Parents) are executive producers. Bruce McKenna, also executive producer, (Band of Brothers, The Pacific) will write the script for Fox Television Studios.

JOHNNY THE GREAT

A hedonistic defense attorney wheels and deals in front of the courts while trying to gain control of both his untrustworthy clients and his own self-destructive behaviors. The script was written by Billy Finkelstein (NYPD Blue, Law and Order, LA Law).

Now reaching more than 91 million homes, A&E Network offers a diverse mix of high quality entertainment; ranging from the networks signature Real-Life Series franchise, including the hit series Dog the Bounty Hunter, Intervention, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, King of Cars and Criss Angel Mindfreak, to critically acclaimed original movies, dramatic series and the most successful justice shows on cable.
