MEDIA PERSONALITY EGYPT JOINS THE 'MAURY' SHOW THIS FALL AS A SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT
"MAURY" LAUNCHES 10TH SEASON THIS WEEK
NEW YORK � September 18, 2007 � New York based national television and radio personality Egypt joins the MAURY show this fall in the role of special correspondent. Egypt will contribute stories and interviews both in-studio and on-location including reporting on the latest and hottest trends in pop culture, as well as behind the scenes exposes.
"Egypt is a solid interviewer who has an energetic and dynamic personality," says host Maury Povich. "She will be a great addition to our show as special correspondent."
Egypt is an award-winning radio broadcast talent, most recognized as the co-host of New York City's Power 105.1 FM's morning show, formerly of 107.5 WBLS' midday show, and the current voice of Premiere Radio Network's "Synopsis" entertainment report on "Live In The Den with Tigger" which is broadcast in over 60 cities. She is one of the most recognizable voices in the syndicated radio arena and known for being a staple on radio in other major cities like Philadelphia's 100.3 The Beat and Baltimore's 92Q.
Egypt's background and experience also includes co-host of the nationally syndicated daytime show, "Home Delivery" distributed by NBC Universal in the fall of 2004. Egypt is currently an entertainment reporter for BET's "The Black Carpet". She has interviewed countless A-List celebrities including Will Smith, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Janet Jackson, P. Diddy, Mariah Carey, LL Cool J, James Brown, R. Kelly, and Russell Simmons among others.
Egypt was named #2 on R&R Magazine's "Power Player on the Rise" Top 10 list. Egypt also received the "Executive to Watch" Award from NABFEME (National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment). She has been featured in The New York Daily News, Time Out New York, BE Magazine, NV Magazine, Source Magazine, KING Magazine, Today's Black Woman, Black Men, as well as other print outlets.
