DELTA BURKE AND ANDREA ROTH STAR IN "BRIDAL FEVER," AN ORIGINAL MOVIE FOR HALLMARK CHANNEL WHICH HAS BEGUN PRODUCTION IN TORONTO FOR AIR IN 2008
Delta Burke ("Boston Legal") and Andrea Roth ("Rescue Me") have been cast to star in "Bridal Fever," a new romantic comedy about two girlfriends who are each searching unsuccessfully for one very important thing in their lives -- a husband -- and who turn to a romance novelist for advice. The original movie has begun production in Toronto, Canada for air on Hallmark Channel in 2008.
Gwen Green (Roth), an aspiring editor at Hearts Afire Publishing, is one the friends who is desperate to find Mr. Right after always being the bridesmaid and never the bride. She and her friend, Sandra, have tried everything, including speed dating, all to no avail until Gwen is assigned to work with Dahlia Marchand (Burke), the leading author of romance novels who is starting a new book of her memoirs.
Soon, Dahlia takes Gwen under her wing and not only gives her advice, but quickly introduces her to Mark, a handsome guy who is also looking to settle down. With everything starting to move quickly, Gwen has to decide if the perfect wedding is really what's she's looking for.
"Bridal Fever" is being produced by Whizbang Films. Orly Adelson ("3: The Dale Earnhardt Story") and Frank Siracusa ("H2O") are the executive producers; Ian McDougall ("Nuremberg") is the producer. Ron Oliver ("A Dennis the Menace Christmas") will direct from a script by Karen McClellan ("The Best Years").
Hallmark Channel, owned and operated by Crown Media Holdings, Inc., is a 24-hour basic cable network that provides a diverse slate of high-quality entertainment programming to a national audience of 85 million subscribers.
