"HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER" GOES ONLINE, ON MOBILE PHONES AND ON iTUNES AND AMAZON UNBOX FOR SEASON THREE

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 21 - HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER will launch its third season (Monday, Sept. 24 at 8:00 PM, ET/PT) with a broad array of interactive initiatives designed to engage and grow its youthful and passionate fan base. The initiatives will include exclusive promotional short-form video content available on the web via the show's MySpace profile (www.MySpace.com/HowIMetYourMother) and the CBS Audience Network among other online platforms, mobile ringtones and voicetones, and full episodes from the first three seasons available for download on iTunes and Amazon Unbox.

Remarked HIMYM co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, "We'd love to take advantage of every opportunity to expand the visibility of our show. New technologies allow shows to be ubiquitous in ways never before possible. We want to be at the forefront of that. If you can download shows on the Internet, we want to be downloadable. If you can watch a show on your phone, we want to be there. When microchip brain implants come along, we want to be first in line."

Web Content

"How I Met Your Mother in 3 Minutes" - Available now.

The first two seasons of HIMYM condensed into three minutes. Narrated by Bob Saget.

Available on Myspace, YouTube and on the CBS Audience Network.

Marshall & Lily's Wedding Album and Honeymoon videos - Available now

Marshall & Lily got married at the end of last season. Here exclusively are their wedding photos and videos from their summer honeymoon in Scotland.

Available on http://www.marshallandlilywedding.com/, MySpace and the CBS Audience Network.

Facebook Recap Contest - Available now.

Fans can visit the "How I Met Your Mother Awesome Gang" page on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=10241925463) and create their own HIMYM recap using classic clips from the show. The winning mashup will be shown on-air following a November episode.

"Slapcountdown.com" - Available now.

In last season's "Slap Bet" episode, Barney lost a slap bet to Marshall, giving him five slaps of Barney over the course of his lifetime. Viewers can go online and watch the slap bet countdown clock count down to the exact moment of the future episode when Marshall will fulfill his promise to slap Barney again.

Available on the web at http://www.slapcountdown.com/. The URL will also be revealed in the final scene of the season premiere episode.

"How It Really Happened" - Launches Sept. 24.

Like any parent retelling stories from his past to his kids, "future" Ted leaves out some of the more sordid details. Beginning with the season premiere, viewers can go online immediately after each of the first six episodes and see an alternate scene that shows "what really happened."

Available on Comcast VOD, MySpace and via the CBS Audience Network.

Mobile Content - Ringtones and Voicetones available now via Sprint and Virgin Mobile

Available now as ringtones, fans can download to their cell phones excerpts from the HIMYM theme song ("Hey Beautiful") and Robin Sparkles' "Let's Go to the Mall."

Available now as voicetones, fans can download to their cell phones a suite of Neil Patrick Harris-voiced Barneyisms as heard on the show. Among the 10 voicetones are "Suit Up!," "It's gonna be legen - wait for it and I hope you're not lactose intolerant because the second half of that word is - dairy" and "When I get sad I stop being sad and be awesome instead."

Full Episodes Available for Download on iTunes and Amazon Unbox

Available in the CBS Store beginning Tuesday, September 25, fans can download for purchase the entire first and second seasons of HIMYM as well as new episodes every week from the upcoming season 3. To help promote the new season, the last two episodes from Season 2 will be made available as free downloads for one week.
