A REBELLIOUS TEEN IS SENT TO HIS GRANDFATHER'S FOR THE SUMMER, ONLY TO LEARN: YOU DO NOT MESS WITH THE COLONEL!

EMMY AWARD WINNERS EDWARD ASNER AND RUE MCCLANAHAN STAR IN 'GENERATION GAP' A HALLMARK CHANNEL ORIGINAL MOVIE PREMIERING OCTOBER 25

Ralph Waite and Alex Black Co-Star

Seven time Emmy Award and five time Golden Globe Award winner Edward Asner ("The Mary Tyler Moore Show") and Emmy Award winner Rue McClanahan ("The Golden Girls") star in "Generation Gap," a Hallmark Channel Original Movie premiering Saturday, October 25 (9/8c). Emmy Award nominee Ralph Waite ("The Waltons") and Alex Black ("Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide") co-star.

In "Generation Gap," Dylan Statlan (Black), a troubled New York teenager is testing the patience and limits of his single mother, Veronica (Catherine Mary Stewart, "Days of Our Lives,"), along with his teachers, the school principal and just about everyone else in his life. Dylan's mom is at her wit's end when her son is expelled from school for fighting, so she turns to her tough, no-nonsense World War II veteran father, Colonel Bart Cahill (Asner), for help. Dylan is sent off to Northern California for the summer, so his grandfather can be a positive male role model and whip him into shape.

Dylan is initially miserable, as his grandfather's boot camp tactics and tough love approach cause quite a bit of conflict. However, as the summer progresses, Dylan learns some valuable life lessons from his grandfather and the Colonel's war buddies, Johnny (Jack Conley, "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay"), Chick (Waite) and Mac (Hal Williams, "Room 227"). He makes a good friend named Corey (Charlie McDermott, "The Village,") and even meets a special girl, Jenny (Danielle Savre, "Bring It On: All or Nothing").

Eventually, Dylan opens up his heart to the grandfather he never took the time to get to know and in the process, starts to become a responsible young man his family can be proud of. Much to the Colonel's surprise, he finds his own hardened heart opening up as well. Not only to is grandson and daughter, but to a lovely local waitress named Kay (McClanahan) who has been trying to get the Colonel's attention forever. Ultimately, the entire family learns the value of bridging the gap of each generation with love and respect for all. Faith & Family Entertainment Presents "Generation Gap," an LG Films Production in Association with Larry Levinson Productions. Larry Levinson is executive producer, co-executive producers are Randy Pope, Kevin Bocarde and Michael Moran. Kyle Clark and Stephen Niver are the producers. Bill Norton is directing from a script by Sean King & Raymond Starmann.
