By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

CRASH (Starz) - Tom Sizemore ("dr. vegas") has booked a recurring role on the film's small screen take. He'll play Adrian Cooper, a detective whose unorthodox measures wreak havoc when he investigates a police-involved shooting. The series bows on October 17 on the pay channel.

EVA ADAMS (A.K.A. LALOLA) (FOX) - The network's domestic take on the Argentinean telenovela "Lalola" has been greenlit to pilot. Tentatively dubbed "Eva Adams," the Sony Pictures Television-based drama centers on a womanizer at a sports management firm who, under a witch's spell, turns into a beautiful woman so he can endure the harassment that women do. Kevin Falls penned the pilot script and will executive produce alongside the studio-based Jamie Tarses. "Adams" was originally issued a put pilot commitment earlier this summer. Dori Media International licensed the format.

IN THE MOTHERHOOD (ABC) - Megan Mullally ("Will & Grace") and Cheryl Hines ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") are reportedly in talks to join Chelsea Handler on the comedy project, which received a 13-episode order on Friday. Jennifer Konner and Alexandra Rushfield are behind the ABC Studios-based half-hour, which is based on the online series featuring Handler, Leah Remini and Jenny McCarthy as three mothers and girlfriends whose exploits are based on real-life stories of moms across the country. Mullally starred in Konner and Rushfield's recent pilot "The Bad Mother's Handbook." The pair are executive producing alongside Stu Bloomberg and MindShare's David Lang and Peter Tortorici.

KARENSKYS (CBS, New!) - The Eye is in final negotiations with "Malcolm in the Middle" creator Linwood Boomer to revive his nearly decade old multi-camera comedy script, about a daughter's return to the fold of her large, eccentric, ethnic family after her husband takes a job in her hometown. "Karenskys" was originally set up at the network when "Malcolm" got off the ground at FOX back in 2000. In any case, Universal Media Studios-based BermanBraun's Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun are on board to executive produce the project alongside Boomer.

WE NEED GIRLFRIENDS (CBS) - Bill Martin and Mike Schiff ("Cavemen") has come aboard as executive producers/showrunners of the comedy project, about three recent college grads who enter the New York dating scene after all of their girlfriends dump them at once. The pair recently inked an overall deal with producer Sony Pictures Television. There they'll work alongside fellow studio-based executive producer Darren Star and original creators Steven Tsapelas, Angel Acevedo and Brian Amyot. Dennis Erdman and Clark Peterson also serve as co-executive producers.
