GO ONTO THE FIELD AND INTO THE JUDGES CHAMBERS WHEN "DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS: MAKING THE TEAM" PREMIERES OCTOBER 4 ON CMT

NASHVILLE September 17, 2008 In a state where football rivals religion, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are the "holy grail." CMT goes behind-the-scenes as hundreds of hopefuls descend upon Texas Stadium with a dream of wearing the famous blue and white uniforms when DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS: MAKING THE TEAM premieres Saturday, October 4 at 9:30-10:30 p.m., ET/PT. Now in its third season, the eight-episode series reveals the struggles from try-outs to training camp as girls compete to earn a spot on Americas most-loved cheerleading squad.

Back to whip the new recruits and seasoned veterans into top performance shape are Kelli Finglass, Director of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders; Jay Johnson, the no-nonsense fitness trainer; and Judy Trammell, Team Choreographer. This year, Trammell is faced with the difficult task of judging her daughter Cassie, who is vying for a spot on the team and has concerns about living up to expectations. Also among the rookies is Alyssa, born to first-generation Thai parents, who wants to show that "All American" doesnt necessarily mean blond hair and blue eyes.

Finglass, Johnson and Trammell test the rookies for the tough physical and mental stamina required, and hand out stern warnings to veterans who didnt return to training camp in top form. This year no spot on the team is secure and the entire squad is faced with heart-wrenching eliminations as they watch some of their own leave. In the end, only the best will live to dance another day in DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS: MAKING THE TEAM.
