THE OSBOURNES: LOUD & DANGEROUS (FOX) - FremantleMedia North America is the latest company to draw the ire of the WGA. The union reports FremantleMedia, which is a WGA signatory, offered a "sub-standard contract" to the writers on the upcoming variety show, which treated them as if they were working on "half-scripted" shows, significantly reducing their writing fees as FremantleMedia itself would be responsible for the "reality content" of the show. The WGA has since ordered its members not to write for the show until the conflict can be resolved.
TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES (FOX) - The show's official blog has posted that two additional scripts have been ordered for the show's second season. Said entry reads: "Because so many of you, our most devoted fans, have been asking, we wanted to set the record straight! While the fate of the show past production on episode thirteen is still unclear, FOX has given us the go-ahead to write two more additional episodes for this season � fourteen and fifteen. We are hard at work writing those episodes and await news of a potential pickup for the full �back nine� (additional episodes to complete the season) in the near future. We�re crossing our fingers (and dotting our i�s) that we�ll have more good news to share with you soon... In the meantime, keep tuning in! Get your friends interested! And thanks for all of your support."
THIS IS YOUR LIFE (ABC) - Mark Burnett Productions is the latest company to take a stab at reviving the one-time TV stable, in which unwitting guests are surprised with a nostalgic retelling of their life stories, complete with appearances by noteworthy people in their past. ABC and Fox Television Studios previously made a go at the format during the 2005-06 season with Regis Philbin as host. That incarnation however never made it to the airwaves. Ralph Edwards Productions holds the rights to the format.
