ABC Goes Country with Programming and Appearances Leading Up to the "The 42nd Annual Cma Awards"

ABC GOES COUNTRY WITH PROGRAMMING AND APPEARANCES LEADING UP TO THE "THE 42nd ANNUAL CMA AWARDS"

ABC, the official broadcast home of "Country Music's Biggest Night,�" is getting the festivities started early with programming celebrating the best of Country Music leading up to the big gala, "The 42nd Annual CMA Awards." The show will be broadcast live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

From Primetime to Daytime and ABC.com, ABC is going Country! Highlights include:

Tuesday, Nov. 4 �"Good Morning America" � This year's CMA Awards co-host and nine time CMA Award winner, Brad Paisley will be stopping in New York to make an appearance on "Good Morning America." His new album, "Play," featuring the current single "Start a Band," a duet with Keith Urban, is being released on Election Day.

Tuesday, Nov. 4 � "The View" � Later that morning, Brad Paisley will be stopping in to see the hosts of ABC Daytime's popular talk show, "The View." The West Virginia native recently celebrated total sales of 10 million albums thus far in his career. He also recently achieved his eighth consecutive (and twelfth overall) No. 1 single with "Waitin' on a Woman."

Wednesday, Nov. 5-12 � Disney-ABC Television Group will be presenting exclusive coverage leading up to "The 42nd Annual CMA Awards," with "The Countdown to Country Music's Biggest Night" on ABC.com. The coverage will include nine daily shows which will also be available at CMAAwards.com and will be distributed to our mobile partners and ABC affiliates. ABC Digital Media will be producing a daily show for the nine days prior to the CMA Awards, including interviews with country artists, exclusive behind-the-scenes access, daily news, event coverage and much more. Hosted by RCA recording artists Chuck Wicks, Jake Owen and former Miss Tennessee Ashley Eicher, the first show will be posted on Wednesday, Nov. 5, and a new show will premiere every day through Wednesday, Nov. 12. The 9th and final daily show is a post-event/party wrap-up show that will be available online Thursday, November 13. The daily and live Red Carpet shows are produced in full by the ABC.com Digital Media Group.

Monday, Nov. 10 � "Good Morning America"�Reigning Horizon Award winner and Female Vocalist of the Year nominee Taylor Swift will perform live on "Good Morning America" to kick off the launch of her second album, "Fearless," which will be released today. The lead-off single, "Love Story," is Top 5 at Country Radio and a most-added track at Top 40.

Tuesday, Nov. 11 � "Dancing with the Stars" � On the eve of the CMA Awards, it's Country Music night at "Dancing" when Brad Paisley stops in before heading to Nashville and "Dancing's" own Julianne Hough (who was on tour with Brad this year) perform.

Wednesday, Nov. 12 � "Good Morning America" � Disney's "Hannah Montana" star and solo recording artist Miley Cyrus and her father, television co-star and duet partner Billy Ray Cyrus, will help kick off the CMA Awards in a performance live from Nashville on "Good Morning America" performing the new hit single, "I Thought I Lost You," from the Walt Disney Pictures feature film "Bolt." Later that night they will also be presenting together a special award on the CMA Awards telecast.

Wednesday, Nov. 12 � "Jimmy Kimmel Live" �Two time "Dancing with the Stars" champion and rising Country star Julianne Hough appears. She recently topped both the "Billboard Country and Top 200 charts with her self-titled album, as well as with the infectious debut single, "That Song In My Head."

Country Music's superstars and the industry's elite will gather to recognize and celebrate the best and brightest performers, songwriters, record producers and music video directors on "The 42nd Annual CMA Awards." Some of the performers will include Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, who are hosting the gala for the first time, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Rodney Atkins, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney and The Wailers, the Eagles, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, James Otto, Kellie Pickler, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, and Keith Urban. Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus, Heidi Newfield, Darius Rucker, Taylor Swift, Josh Turner, Reese Witherspoon and Lee Ann Womack will present. Additional artists and presenters will be added to the lineup and announced soon.

"The 42nd Annual CMA Awards" is a production of the Country Music Association. Robert Deaton is the executive producer. Paul Miller is the director. David Wild is the writer. The special will be shot in high definition and broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound. A TV parental guideline will be posted closer to airdate.
