Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS (FOX) - Kristen Johnston ("3rd Rock From the Sun") is in talks to star in the comedy pilot, a domestic take on Jennifer Saunders's much-ballyhooed U.K. series. Johnston, along with Kathryn Hahn, participated in a table read of the project on Friday which ultimately lead to the pilot moving forward. Christine Zander is behind the Sony Pictures Television-based half-hour, which is also executive produced by Sanders, Ian Moffitt, Mitch Hurwitz, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannebaum.
BROTHERS & DETECTIVES (ABC) - The Alphabet is moving forward with a domestic version of the Argentinean drama, about a Savannah police detective who discovers, after his father dies, that he has an 11-year-old brother with a genius IQ who is adept at helping him solve crimes. Daniel Cerone is behind the hour, which is set up at ABC Studios.
DAY ONE (NBC) - "Heroes" alum Jesse Alexander has received a pilot order from the Peacock for his drama about the aftermath of a global event that devastates the world's infrastructures, leaving a small band of survivors to rebuild society and unravel the mysteries of why the event took place. The project is set up at Universal Media Studios with Alexander writing and executive producing.
I, CLAUDIA (ABC, New!) - John Scott Shepherd ("The Days") has landed a pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a new drama about Claudia McIntire, a young prosecuting attorney who, viewers learn, will one day be a contender for the presidency. The woman, however, is currently more concerned about her love life than her career. ABC Studios is behind the hour, with Matt Gross ("Dirty Sexy Money") executive producing alongside Shepherd.
INSIDE THE BOX (ABC, New!) - "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes is shepherding a new drama pilot at the network about an ambitious female news producer and her colleagues at a Washington network news bureau. Richard E. Robbins ("Peter Jennings Reporting"), a former news producer, penned the pilot script and is executive producing alongside Rhimes and her Shondaland partner Betsy Beers for ABC Studios. The news marks Rhimes's third stab at the TV news beat - one in 2002 and one in 2006 (featuring Jeffrey Dean Morgan), both of which never got off the ground.
MASTERWORK (FOX) - Paul Scheuring's drama has been given a pilot order by the network. Based at 20th Century Fox Television, "Masterwork" revolves around a race against time to recover the world's most sought-after artifacts. No other specifics were given.
TYLER PERRY'S MEET THE BROWNS (TBS) - TBS is reportedly close to ordering 70 additional episodes of Tyler Perry's newcomer, which completes its 10-episode test run next month. To date, "Browns" has averaged an impressive 3.4 million viewers, including 1.9 million adults 18-49, 1.8 million adults 25-54 and 910,000 adults 18-34. It's believed the fresh installments will roll out this summer, with distributor Debmar-Mercury offering a syndication window starting in the fall of 2010.
