Thursday Night's #1 Cable Program to Begin National Casting for Fourth Season in June '09
NEW YORK, May 1, 2009 � MTV's hit reality dance competition series from Warner Horizon Television, "Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew," will return for a fourth season later this year. Giving fans more of what they love, Thursday night's favorite cable series among P12�34, will kick-off Season 4 casting on June 6 in Los Angeles, before heading to Chicago, Orlando and New York City. The search is on to find the next nine crews with the heart and talent of the three reigning champions that came before them. With the JabbaWockeeZ, SuperCr3w and Quest Crew as the predecessors who each grabbed the nation's attention and walked away with $100,000 cash prizes, it's any city's game to see who will have what it takes to join their ranks and become America's Best Dance Crew. The season 3 finale of "Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew" served the cable competition and ranked as the #1 cable program on Thursday among P12�34 and averaged over 3.4 million viewers (P2+). Throughout the season, the series consistently ranked #1 in its time period (Thursday 10�11 p.m.) among Persons 12�34, versus all of cable. For the season, the series also reached over 72.4 million total viewers (P2+) on MTV with 33.5 million in the Persons 12�34 demo.
"America's Best Dance Crew" is hosted by Mario Lopez and shot on location in Los Angeles as dance crews of five to seven members perform their hottest moves for dance supremacy and a $100,000 cash prize. Every performance-themed episode gives insight into the crews' emotion, spirit and inspiration as they step up to the challenge and showcase their innovative choreography and skills. Viewers from around the country choose their favorite crews via text messaging, phone and online voting (http://dancecrew.mtv.com). The two weakest teams as determined by voting show their best moves for the judges with the hope of advancing to the next round. One crew will be eliminated each week, ultimately revealing the nation's best dance crew.
"Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew" is executive produced by "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, Joel Gallen (Tenth Planet Productions), Hip Hop International's Howard Schwartz and Karen Schwartz (the creators of the USA & World Hip Hop Dance Championships), Rob Lee (Bayonne Entertainment), Harriet Sternberg and Abe Hoch (both of Dream Merchant 21 Entertainment). Craig Erwich, Brooke Karzen and Drew Tappon are the executives overseeing the project for Warner Horizon Television ("The Bachelor," "The Bachelorette," "High School Reunion," "Here Come the Newlyweds").
