ONE TREE HILL (The CW) - Entertainment Weekly reports co-stars Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton will not be returning for the show's seventh season. The pair had been the focus of heated contract negotiations for the past several months as a deal couldn't be worked out. To fill said void, producers are reportedly casting for several new characters, including "an older sister for Haley, a sports agent who reps Nathan, and an actress-diva-model that Brooke hires to be the new face of her clothing line." That's in addition to Austin Nichols, who as previously reported will be upped to series regular next season.
SIT DOWN, SHUT UP (FOX) - FOX has dumped its low-rated newcomer "Sit Down, Shut Up!" effective immediately. The series, which was banished to the 7:00/6:00c slot last month, had one more airing scheduled for this Sunday. A repeat of "King of the Hill" will instead sub in for the animated newcomer. FOX is expected to formally pull the plug of the series once its 2009-10 plans are unveiled next week. 13 episodes have been completed of "Sit Down," meaning at least nine will sit on the shelf.
THE TUDORS (Showtime) - Joss Stone has signed to reprise her role of Anne of Cleves for the show's upcoming fourth and final season. Anne was the fourth wife of Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) whose "marriage to Henry was annulled after he decided he no longer found her attractive, [but went on to become] the king's confidante and outlived his other five wives." Production on the show's swan song is set to begin next month for a spring 2010 premiere.
