ABC FAMILY'S "GREEK" TIE-IN NOVELS TO BE PUBLISHED BY HARLEQUIN

Burbank, CA (Monday, October 5, 2009) ABC Family and Harlequin Enterprises Limited, one of the world's leading publishers of women's fiction and the global leader of series romance, today announced a new licensing agreement. Under the agreement, Harlequin will publish four Harlequin TEEN tie-in titles for the ABC Family series "Greek," the network's critically acclaimed dramedy about the lives and loves of college students at the fictional Cyprus-Rhodes University.

"The new 'Greek' Harlequin TEEN titles are a perfect fit with our Millennial audience," said Naz Haider, Vice President, Business Management, ABC Family. "The books will reflect at their core the mix of romance, rivalry, humor and heart that 'Greek' fans have come to love about the series."

"We are delighted to be working with ABC Family to publish the 'Greek' titles," said Loriana Sacilotto, Executive Vice President, Global Editorial, Harlequin Enterprises. "We plan to incorporate 'Greek's' trademark irreverence and fun, believable characters and relationships into the editorial. These books will provide fans of the show with rewarding reading experiences and great entertainment while allowing them to extend their enjoyment of the series."

All four Harlequin TEEN books will be extensions of the series. The debut title, DOUBLE DATE, by author Marsha Warner, will be published in May 2010. The second title, BEST FRENEMIES, also by Warner, is scheduled for release in August 2010; the third entry to the series (Title TBD), to be written by author Micol Ostow, is due out in November 2010; the fourth book (Title and Author TBD) is due out in early 2011.

In the first entry of the series, DOUBLE DATE, ZBZ sorority sister Casey Cartwright accidentally books herself for two dates -- on the same night! She's promised her younger brother's best friend, Dale, that she'll attend the honors engineering award night with him -- but then finds out that it conflicts with the all-Greek formal that Casey has been counting on attending with a hot new guy. Does she honor her original commitment, or find a way out to go where her heart truly desires? With help from BFF Ashleigh, brother Rusty, and a push from frenemy Rebecca and Casey's sexy ex, Cappie, Casey does the right thing...her way.

Created by Patrick Sean Smith, "Greek" is executive-produced by Piller/Segan in association with ABC Family. The cast includes Jacob Zachar as Rusty, Spencer Grammer as Casey, Scott Michael Foster as Cappie, Jake McDorman as Evan, Clark Duke as Dale, Dilshad Vadsaria as Rebecca, Paul James as Calvin and Amber Stevens as Ashleigh.
