BOARDWALK EMPIRE (HBO) - Gretchen Mol ("Life on Mars") has landed a recurring role on the upcoming period drama, about "the dawn of Prohibition and chronicles the life and times of Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi), the undisputed ruler of Atlantic City who was equal parts politician and gangster." Mol will play Gillian, a showgirl, on the series, which comes from creator Terence Winter and fellow executive producer Martin Scorsese.

ENLIGHTENED (HBO) - Sarah Burns ("I Love You, Man") has joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about Amy (Laura Dern), "a self-destructive woman who has a spiritual awakening and becomes determined to live an enlightened life, creating havoc at home and work." She'll play Amy's workplace friend in the half-hour, which comes from multihypenate Mike White.

FACING KATE (USA) - Ethan Embry ("Brotherhood") has scored a role on the drama pilot, about Kate (Sarah Shahi), "an attorney-turned-professional mediator trying to balance her new work relationships and those with her family." He's set as Kate's brother and confidant "who gave up a law career to be a stay-at-home father." Universal Cable Productions is producing the hour, which also stars Michael Trucco and Virginia Williams.

THE LISTENER (NBC) - CTV, Space and Fox International Channels have picked up a second season of the drama despite being canceled by NBC. Shaftesbury Films is set to produce 13 new installments, which will air and be distributed by the aforementioned group. It's not clear if a new U.S. outlet will be sought.

THE QUICKENING (A&E) - "Prison Break" alum Amaury Nolasco has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about Maggie Bird (Radha Mitchell), "a homicide detective assigned to a desk job after it is discovered that she has a bipolar disorder." He's playing "a homicide detective who briefly was married to Maggie and remains emotionally connected to her." Jeffrey Nordling, John Heard and Michael Arden also star in the hour, which comes from Fox Television Studios.

SECRETS IN THE WALLS (LMN, New!) - Jeri Ryan, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Kay Panabaker and Peyton List are set to star in a new movie at the cable channel about "a mother of two (Ryan) who finds that her new dream house in the suburbs outside Detroit is haunted." Panabaker and List then will play her children with Jean-Baptiste as the best friend of Ryan's character who helps try to solve the mystery. Christopher Leitch is helming the RHI Entertainment-based project from a script by William Penick and Christopher Sey with Michael Larkin and Michael Goldstein executive producing via their Larkin-Goldstein Productions banner.
