truTV Upfront Presentation Set for April 27, Featuring Sneak Peeks at New Programming and a Special Performance by Kid Rock
truTV, which is coming off a record-setting year in 2009, will hold its 2010 Upfront presentation April 27. truTV's Upfront will include a look at new and returning programs, along with a performance by Kid Rock.
Previously, truTV's Upfront presentation was part of a larger event involving sister networks TNT and TBS. truTV is branching out with its own gathering in 2010 to highlight the network's double-digit growth and a strong slate of original programming.
"truTV has emerged as one of the biggest success stories in television, so this is the right time to showcase the network with a separate Upfront presentation," said Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks.
truTV was created in 2008 after a rebranding of the former Court TV. truTV has gone on to remarkable ratings success. In 2009, truTV had its most-watched year ever in primetime among key demos. The network has become popular with viewers 18-49, including especially strong growth among young men. So far in 2010, truTV has ranked among the Top 10 networks on ad-supported cable among viewers 18-49, in both primetime and total day.
"We look forward to sharing with advertisers how truTV has evolved into a major destination for younger audiences," said David Levy, president of sales, distribution and sports, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. "truTV's Upfront will also immerse our clients in an event that highlights the network's unique culture."
The Upfront presentation for TNT and TBS is scheduled for May 19.
truTV is television's destination for real-life stories told from an exciting and dramatic first-person perspective. Currently seen in 91 million U.S. households, the 19-year-old network is enjoying its best deliveries ever in key demographics. truTV features high-stakes, action-packed originals that give viewers access to places and situations they can't normally experience. truTV's primetime fan favorites include the original series Black Gold, Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura, Operation Repo, The Smoking Gun Presents and Forensic Files. During the daytime, the channel features expert trial coverage under the name In Session.
