MAURA TIERNEY JOINS CAST OF "THE WHOLE TRUTH," NEW SERIES FROM JERRY BRUCKHEIMER TELEVISION FOR FALL ON ABC

Emmy(R) Award nominee Maura Tierney ("ER") has joined "The Whole Truth" as a series regular. The new drama series from Jerry Bruckheimer Television will air Wednesdays from 10:00-11:00 p.m., ET this fall on ABC. With a unique alternative narrative structure that chronicles the way a case is built from the perspectives of both the defense and prosecution, "The Whole Truth" shows each side equally and keeps its audience guessing, shifting allegiances of guilt or innocence until the very final scene.

Kathryn Peale (Tierney), the product of a New England background and a sheriff father, is a deputy bureau chief in the Manhattan District Attorney's office. Jimmy Brogan (Rob Morrow, "Numb3rs"), born and raised in Hell's Kitchen and a friend of Kathryn's since their days at Yale Law School, is one of New York's rising criminal attorney stars. These two evenly matched legal masters will square off each week as the central characters of the series.

Tierney played Abby Lockhart for eight seasons on the long-running hit series, "ER," earning an Emmy(R) Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2001. In 2009 she began recurring on "Rescue Me," opposite Denis Leary, and has reprised her role for the 2011 season. Tierney was previously a familiar face to television viewers after her four-year role as Lisa Miller on the critically acclaimed comedy "NewsRadio." Also an accomplished film actor, she had notable roles in the comedies "Baby Mama," with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, and "Semi-Pro," opposite Will Ferrell and Woody Harrelson. Other feature credits include "Diggers," "Welcome to Mooseport," "Instinct" (opposite Anthony Hopkins and Cuba Gooding Jr.), "Primal Fear," "Insomnia" (with Al Pacino, Robin Williams and Hilary Swank) and "Scotland, PA" (also starring Christopher Walken). She earned critical praise for her role in Mike Nichols' "Primary Colors," alongside John Travolta and Emma Thompson, as well as her work on "Liar, Liar," opposite Jim Carrey. In 2006 Tierney starred in the Off-Broadway production of Neil LaBute's "Some Girl(s)" at the Lucille Lortel Theater, joining the cast with Eric McCormack, Fran Drescher, Judy Reyes and Brooke Smith. Additionally she starred in Nicky Silver's "Three Changes" with Dylan McDermott, and most recently in The Wooster Group's "North Atlantic," with Frances McDormand.

In addition to Tierney and Morrow, "The Whole Truth" stars Christine Adams ("Home Again"), Anthony Ruivivar ("Third Watch"), Eamonn Walker ("Oz") and Sean Wing ("Beautiful People").

"The Whole Truth" is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Warner Bros. Television. Jerry Bruckheimer (the "CSI" series), Jonathan Littman (the "CSI" series) and Ed Zuckerman ("Law & Order") are the executive producers. Tom Donaghy ("Without a Trace"), who attended NYU with Tierney, and KristieAnne Reed ("Dark Blue") are co-executive producers. Donaghy wrote the pilot, which was directed by Alex Graves ("Fringe"), who also executive-produced the pilot.
