Modern Greek Noir Thriller SAVE ME Makes U.S. Debut on the Viaplay Streaming Service Beginning Thursday, June 18
Following its Netflix Greece release and set against the atmospheric landscapes of northern Greece, the gripping psychological thriller SAVE ME makes its U.S. debut beginning Thursday, June 18, with two episodes streaming weekly exclusively on Nordic and European-focused streaming service Viaplay. The eight-episode crime drama follows a missing-person investigation that soon spirals into the hunt for a serial killer. SAVE ME is based on the acclaimed novel by author Dimitris Simos, who also serves as head writer on the series.
When Nikol (Danai Skiadi), a young woodcarver, returns to her hometown of Komotini for her father's memorial, her younger sister mysteriously disappears soon after. As Nikol begins unraveling the disturbing circumstances surrounding the disappearance, she joins forces with a determined local detective (Elena Mavridou) whose own personal demons mirror the town's deeply buried secrets. Together, they navigate a web of lies, trauma, and long-suppressed truths hidden beneath the surface of an outwardly quiet community.
What begins as a desperate search for a missing woman quickly escalates into a chilling investigation into a possible serial killer, forcing both Nikol and the detective to confront guilt, corruption, and the dangerous consequences of uncovering the past. As the mystery deepens, SAVE ME reveals how darkness can thrive beneath even the most ordinary lives.
(Crime Drama, 8 x 45 mins episodes, Greek with English subtitles)
