CMT ANNOUNCES FALL PROGRAMMING

Lineup Includes New Seasons of ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER, DCC: MAKING THE TEAM and WORLD'S STRICTEST PARENTS

Programming To Also Include New Specials and the CMT Premiere of PETTY BLUE

NASHVILLE - August 27, 2010 - CMT will add new specials, films and all-new seasons of hit shows ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER, DCC: MAKING THE TEAM and WORLD'S STRICTEST PARENTS to its programming schedule this fall. Beginning Monday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m., ET/PT, ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER will kick-off new episodes with a special country music-themed week featuring country stars Joe Nichols, Josh Turner, Laura Bell Bundy, Trailer Choir and Craig Morgan. Hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, contestants will tackle subjects ranging from geography to social studies in each half-hour episode.

DCC: MAKING THE TEAM will return for its fifth season with hundreds of new hopefuls fighting to wear the famous blue and white uniforms on Friday, October 15 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT. The eight-episode series reveals the struggles from try-outs to training camp as girls compete to earn a spot on America's most-loved cheerleading squad. Back to whip the new recruits and seasoned veterans into top performance shape are Kelli Finglass, director of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders; Jay Johnson, the no-nonsense fitness trainer; and Judy Trammell, team choreographer.

Immediately following DCC, the second season of CMT's hit show WORLD'S STRICTEST PARENTS will premiere at 9:00 p.m., ET/PT. Each one-hour episode documents the journey of two unruly teens from different families as they are forced to adapt to the rules and regulations of very strict host parents. Living under different standards from their families back home, the misbehaving teens are subject to consequences for breaking rules and skipping chores while the strict parents attempt to mend their ways.

In addition, CMT will premiere its latest film, PETTY BLUE on Friday, October 8 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT. Narrated by Academy Award(R) winner Kevin Costner, PETTY BLUE is an engrossing and moving documentary about the life and times of NASCAR great Richard Petty and his extraordinary family. The Petty family is synonymous with racing, and with winning; never before have four generations of a single family successfully competed in the same sport. The film takes fans beyond the track to examine the Pettys' individual accomplishments, their influences on the sport and the personal tragedies that shaped them into the racing icons they are today. PETTY BLUE, which refers to the famously distinctive color of Richard Petty's #43 car, is an inspirational story of dedication, perseverance and family tradition.

CMT will present two specials in November - 40 GREATEST SONGS OF THE DECADE and CMA RED CARPET SPECIAL 2010. Combining interviews, music videos and archival footage, the all-new two-hour special 40 GREATEST SONGS OF THE DECADE celebrates the most successful and influential songs released between 2000 and 2010.
