T-MOBILE WILL PRESENT "BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST AWARD"

Los Angeles, CA -- Recording artists Demi Lovato and Taio Cruz revealed the 2010 American Music Awards(R) (AMAs) nominees this morning from the JW Marriott Los Angeles at L.A. LIVE (see full list of nominees below). Bon Jovi, P!nk and Usher were also announced as performers for the 38th annual AMAs. Additional acts and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.

The live broadcast will take place at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on ABC. Eminem and Lady Antebellum lead the nominations race this year with five (5) total nominations each, Justin Bieber follows with four (4) nominations and B.o.B., Katy Perry, Ke$ha and Usher collected three (3) nominations respectively. Justin Bieber, Eminem, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry make up the highly talented roster of 2010 Artist of the Year nominees.

For the fourth year, winners will be determined by online voting at the official Coca-Cola voting location www.amavote.com, as well as ama.abc.com. Artists will be honored in the categories of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin, Soundtracks and Contemporary Inspirational. Fans can go to the official homepage of the "2010 American Music Awards," ama.abc.com, to find performer and presenter announcements, artist information, and more.

Fans Can Vote Via T-Mobile Text Messaging or at ama.abc.com Beginning October 12

The "2010 American Music Awards" is asking the public to cast their votes for this year's T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award, the only award which will determine the fans' top favorite new artist who is having a breakout year. This is also the only award on the AMAs where fans can text in their votes and continue to vote during the show. The T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award will be revealed during the live telecast of the special, airing SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

In addition, music fans will again be able to vote for the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award via T-Mobile text messaging or at ama.abc.com. Message and data rates may apply. For the first round of voting beginning Tuesday, October 12 through Friday, October 22 fans will be able to determine who will make up the final award nominees from the list of artists available at ama.abc.com. The top four artists with the highest votes from the first round of voting will be the final award nominees of the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award. Voting for the award winner will begin October 25 and conclude during the American Music Awards on November 21.
