INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY'S ANNUAL BLACK WIDOWS WEEK RETURNS FEATURING SHOCKING INTERVIEWS WITH DEADLY WOMEN IN THE FOUR-PART SPECIAL, FACING EVIL WITH CANDICE DELONG
(Silver Spring, Md.) - Investigation Discovery celebrates Thanksgiving in its own unique way with programming highlighting women who kill for thrills with BLACK WIDOWS WEEK, anchored by the world premiere of FACING EVIL WITH CANDICE DELONG. FACING EVIL is a four-part miniseries featuring former F.B.I. criminal profiler, Candice DeLong, who is rumored to be the real life Clarice Starling, the character played by Jodie Foster in "Silence of the Lambs." DeLong sits face to face, behind prison walls, with the actual perpetrators who appear in ID's hit series, Deadly Women, and provides her expert insight of the minds of these female killers. Featuring gripping interviews that are candid, revealing and have the ability to shock viewers to their core, FACING EVIL WITH CANDICE DELONG premieres on Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26 at 10 and 10:30 PM ET on Investigation Discovery.
BLACK WIDOWS WEEK runs from Monday, November 23 to Sunday, November 29 with a weeklong programming marathon of Investigation Discovery's signature series, Deadly Women, which is also hosted by Candice DeLong, beginning at 6 PM (ET) daily. Currently in its fourth season on ID, Deadly Women is one of the network's longest-running and most popular original series.
"As one of the only criminal profilers on television who has had the experience of both treating mentally unstable women as well as putting them behind bars, I couldn't be more thrilled that Candice DeLong is sharing these intensely personal interviews with ID for FACING EVIL," said Henry Schleiff, president and general manager, Investigation Discovery. "Indeed, Candice's expertise and commentary provide the perfect addition to Black Widows Week, our Thanksgiving marathon 'feast of femme fatales!'"
Candice DeLong is an internationally recognized homicide expert and former F.B.I. profiler. In her remarkable 20-year career with the world's most powerful law enforcement agency, DeLong tailed terrorists, posed as a gangster's moll, and was one of only three agents hand-picked to go to Montana and carry out the manhunt for the Unabomber. While serving as head nurse of a major psychiatric hospital, DeLong was recruited into the F.B.I. and soon after basic training, she was ushered in the exclusive, inner sanctum of the world famous Behavioral Science Unit where she was trained as a criminal profiler. Now, DeLong uses her psychiatric and profiling skills to explore and explain some of the most interesting and unusual female killers portrayed in DEADLY WOMEN and FACING EVIL.
