Logo Expands Social Networking Outreach with Miso Partnership for "NewNowNext Awards" Telecast

NEW YORK, March 30, 2011 -- Logo, the entertainment network for gays, lesbians and their families and friends announced today James Van Der Beek as the host for the "NewNowNext Awards" 2011. Van Der Beek will oversee the awards in addition to previously announced live musicals acts Robyn, Panic! At The Disco, Oh Land and Wynter Gordon. Logo also announces today their partnership with social TV app Miso to promote this year's telecast. The "NewNowNext Awards" 2011 tapes in front of a live audience at the legendary Avalon in Hollywood on Thursday, April 7th with a telecast premiere on Monday, April 11th at 10/9C on Logo.

James Van Der Beek exemplifies how a "NewNowNext" actor emerged to become a pop culture mainstay and household name. From his recent appearance in Ke$ha's "Blow" video to his extensive career in television, film and theater, Van Der Beek earns his rightful place to recognize the up-and-coming talent of tomorrow as host of this year's "NewNowNext Awards" 2011. Van Der Beek is also nominated for this year's "#zOMG Internet Award" for his recent hilarious collaboration with FunnyorDie.com at JamesVanDerMemes.com.

James Van Der Beek hit the brink of fame with the iconic late-1990s series "Dawson's Creek." Van Der Beek quickly became pop culture's "It" guy being featured in People's "50 Most Beautiful People in the World." His expansive career includes films "Varsity Blues," "Scary Movie," "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back," "The Rules of Attraction" and "Texas Rangers" and television series including "Criminal Minds," "How I Met Your Mother," "Ugly Betty," "One Tree Hill" and "Mercy."

In addition to Van Der Beek ruling over the "NewNowNext Awards" festivities, recording artist Neon Hitch will serve as guest DJ to keep the party rolling. Newly signed to Warner Bros. Records, British singer and songwriter Neon Hitch will be releasing her debut album "Beg, Borrow & Steal" later this year.

On the social media front, Logo is partnering with social TV app Miso to promote the "NewNowNext Awards" telecast on April 11th, 2011. Viewers who use Miso to "check-in" to the "NewNowNext Awards" can unlock an exclusive virtual badge. Additionally, Logo fans that also check-in to "RuPaul's Drag Race" and "Untucked: RuPaul's Drag Race" on April 11th can earn a bonus badge. While tuning in, Miso users can interact with other fans on the Miso platform and share the experience by broadcasting messages to their friends on social networks.

Through its past discoveries, the "NewNowNext Awards" has proven it's one step ahead of the hype by calling out some of today's hottest pop culture phenomenon long before they were on the mainstream radar. Highlights include Lady Gaga's first ever televised performance with a sizzling rendition of "Just Dance." Hit drama series "True Blood" received the "Best Show You're Not Watching" award months before its Emmy nominations. Wendy Williams won "Best New Indulgence" before her daytime talk show "The Wendy Williams Show" went national.

The "NewNowNext Awards" builds on Logo's acclaimed NewNowNext franchise, which includes LogoTV.com's pop culture blog NewNowNext.com and two on-air music shows: "NewNowNext PopLab," the home for party music in all its forms, and "NewNowNext Music," the ultimate music video destination of today's hottest artists and emerging musicians.
