The New Reality Series "The Dance Scene" Premieres at 10:30pm ET/PT on E!, Immediately Following "Khloé & Lamar"
LOS ANGELES - April 8, 2011 - The whirlwind 30-day courtship and fairytale wedding of reality TV darling Khloé Kardashian and basketball superstar Lamar Odom led even the most cynical hearts to believe in love at first sight. While their year-old marriage is equally naughty and nice, they're finding that establishing a life together after knowing each other for a short time, combined with living under the same roof as Khloé's little brother Rob, definitely keeps them on their toes. In the series, fun and fabulous Khloé puts family first and realizes that if the household is to run smoothly, she's got to use her trademark humor and straight talk to keep everyone on track. Her loving husband Lamar, a 2004 Olympic athlete and 2010 FIBA Gold Medal Champion, balances his personal life with an incredibly demanding Los Angeles Lakers schedule. Throughout the season, viewers see him in the locker room, at practice and on the road with the team. Though the well-known couple lives a hectic life, Khloé and Lamar will
show they are more committed than ever to strengthening their unbreakable bond. This series, produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions and Bunim/Murray Productions, premieres Sunday, April 10th at 10:00pm ET/PT only on E!
In addition to Khloé, Lamar, and Rob, who considers the pro baller the brother he never had, the Odom household is frequented by longtime friends. There's Malika, Khloé's best friend and personal assistant who shares an increasingly flirty relationship with Rob; and Lamar's oldest and most trusted friend, Jamie, whose near-death experience shook Lamar to his core, and who Khloé believes is taking advantage of Lamar's kindness. The series will also include Lamar's father Joe, whose relationship with his son is strained at best. And of course the Kardashian family is always nearby to lend support to the newlyweds.
In the first episode, a shocked Khloé meets her father-in-law for the first time when he turns up unexpectedly at a book signing she's doing with her sister Kourtney. Khloé worries that meeting him this way will upset her husband. When Joe asks for tickets to a Lakers game, Khloé sees an opportunity to start rebuilding the broken relationship between her husband and his father. However, Lamar balks at the prospect. Khloé's left to decide if her insistence on a family reunion is really the right thing for Lamar and her relationship with him. Meanwhile, Rob is asked to play in the celebrity All Star game, and Lamar is crushed to find out he didn't make the 2011 NBA All Star Team. He and Khloé plan to get away relax for a few days, leaving Rob hurt that they're putting themselves before family.
Throughout the season, this celebrity couple finds that while their love and loyalty keep them going strong, friends and family can really heat things up. Ever since Lamar's trusted confidant Jamie was struck with a life-threatening illness a few years ago, Lamar has cared for him like a family member. Khloé feels that now that the charismatic Jamie is healthy, back to going out on the town and making everyone laugh, he should stand on his own two feet. Jamie feels that his 20 year friendship with Lamar should trump Khloe's one year marriage, and that she should butt out. Lamar is in a difficult spot, not wanting to abandon his oldest friend or have that relationship cause trouble with his wife.
Two years out of school, Rob is looking to establish himself and Khloé encourages him to follow their father's footsteps in the business world. Through Kris, Rob is given the chance to manage the girl group BG5, and quickly discovers the job is not as easy as his mom made it look. The ladies sense his inexperience and don't trust his direction. A frustrated Rob is challenged to come up with a plan that will assure them they're on the road to success, or risk losing the job.
In a joint business venture, Khloé and Lamar have developed a unisex fragrance. A discussion over the promotion of the scent spirals out of control and leads to their first big argument, and Lamar shows his wife they're a normal couple - crying, yelling, making up and all.
In addition, Lamar finds himself in the middle of an intense friendship triangle when Rob and Jamie compete for his time. Rob truly reveres Lamar, and Jamie sees Rob as a bothersome kid who can't hang with the big boys. But drama doesn't only affect the men in the household. The ladies have their fair share as well. Khloé and Malika, friends for the past 15 years, find themselves in a heated exchange when Malika decides she can no longer be Khloé's assistant. Khloé's blindsided and heartbroken, and wonders if her long friendship with Malika will survive.
Don't miss the drama, the laughs, and an inside look into the marriage of one of Hollywood's most renowned couples when "Khloé & Lamar" premieres Sunday, April 10 at 10:00pm ET/PT only on E!
