TRION AND SYFY REVEAL "DEFIANCE(TM)," THE FIRST INTERCONNECTED VIDEO GAME AND TELEVISION SERIES

Trion's Multi-Platform Shooter MMO to Debut at E3

Rockne S. O'Bannon Tapped to Write Series for Syfy

Redwood Shores, CA and New York, NY - June 6, 2011 - Defiance(TM), the upcoming open world shooter MMO from Trion Worlds, will make its official debut at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, June 7-9. Demos will take place behind closed doors at the Trion booth over the course of the three-day show. Select press and VIPs will see the first shooter-style MMO to play live on PC, Xbox 360(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and PlayStation(R)3 computer entertainment system.

Defiance is the first multi-platform shooter MMO which, in a ground-breaking entertainment experience, interconnects with a global television program by Syfy, cable's premier imagination-based entertainment channel. Announced last year, the first live gameplay demo of Trion and Syfy's visionary concept will debut at the annual industry event.

On the television side, the Defiance series, to be produced by Universal Cable Productions, will be penned by Rockne S. O'Bannon, a legendary sci-fi TV writer best-known for his work on Warehouse 13, Alien Nation, seaQuest DSV, and Farscape.

About Defiance

Set on a future Earth, Defiance introduces players and viewers to a world where humans and aliens live together on a planet transformed by decades of conflict. The game combines the intense action of a "AAA" console shooter, with the persistence, scale, and customization of an MMO, while its TV counterpart weaves the rich tapestry of the world into a series with the scope, characters, and drama of a classic sci-fi epic. Because they exist in a single universe, the show and the game will influence each other and evolve together over time, with actions in both mediums driving the overall story of Defiance.
