LOS ANGELES (September 20, 2011) - From breaking news to breakthrough shows, TV Guide Network looks back at the most influential television moments that have changed its landscape forever. The series breaks down 100 monumental moments ranging from historical events and spectacular sports milestones to ground-breaking television series and inspirational stories that brought the world together. The five-part series, "100 Moments That Changed TV," airs on consecutive Sundays with parts one and two premiering Sunday, October 2 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on TV Guide Network. Sportscaster Frank Gifford addresses the launch of "Monday Night Football" and ESPN and how technology has changed the way in which football games are broadcast.

Other topics examined include how FCC rules changed after the Janet Jackson Super Bowl incident, the Van Doren "Quiz Show" scandal, how cable influenced the 24/7 news cycle, how Barbara Walters opened doors for women in news and how reality shows "Survivor" and "American Idol" sparked a new genre in television.
