"The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" Welcomes First Lady Michelle Obama for a Second Guest Appearance on Tuesday, May 29 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT

NEW YORK, May 23, 2012 -- First Lady Michelle Obama will appear as a guest for a second time on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" on Tuesday, May 29 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT, her first appearance since entering the White House. Mrs. Obama will discuss her first-ever book, AMERICAN GROWN: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America (May 29, 2012; Crown Publishers), which invites readers inside the White House Kitchen Garden and offers an unprecedented look at every season of the garden's growth, from the first planting to the latest harvest. The First Lady also shares the inspiring stories of Americans from all walks of life who are actively engaged in community, school, and urban gardens across the country, and who have come together to build a healthier future for our nation's children and families.

Author proceeds of First Lady Michelle Obama's book will benefit the National Park Foundation, the official non-profit of America's national parks. Funds will go towards the continued care of the White House garden, as well as to programs promoting gardening, healthy eating and opportunities for young people to experience the outdoors to learn, discover and lead healthy active lives.

The National Park Foundation raises private funds that directly support and enrich America's nearly 400 national parks and their programs. As the official charitable partner of the National Park Service, the National Park Foundation plays a critical role in efforts to enhance youth engagement, promote education, support conservation and preservation initiatives, and to provide unique opportunities for all people to experience America's most treasured places.
