The End Is Just the Beginning for Investigation Discovery's New True Crime Series with a Backward Twist: "REDRUM"

America's Guilty Pleasure Network Unveils the First Upside Down Murder Mystery

SILVER SPRING, Md., Jan. 2, 2013 -- Investigation Discovery turns traditional crime drama on its head with the new series, REDRUM premiering Tuesday, January 15, at 10pm E/P. Moving in reverse, this show debuts the next great angle in compelling storytelling as it starts at the scene of the crime and goes backwards in time to reveal the killer, revealing their motive and the truth behind what really drove them to murder.

"As a destination for people who crave crime and mystery programming, we are always searching for innovative ways to tell our stories and keep our audience captivated," said Henry Schleiff , president and general manager of Investigation Discovery. "REDRUM brings a unique angle and to me, there's nothing 'better for change' than literally, flipping the script."

REDRUM illustrates how a murder investigation never starts at the beginning, but when a body is found. It's up to the investigators to piece together the story, tracing the series of intersecting, and often complex events and relationships that unfolded to arrive at the root of the crime. Viewers follow the backward tale of murder from the false motives and mistaken witnesses to conversations taken completely out of context, until the truth finally comes out at the very end. With interviews from friends and family close to the victims, and sometimes even the killer themselves, this chilling and haunting series uses a combination of traditional elements of true crime programming by integrating first person interviews along with stylized recreations.

And leading up to the premiere, ID has partnered with Grubwithus.com to bring ID fans together for murder mystery dinner events in cities across the country including New York, Los Angeles, DC, Philadelphia, Chicago, Austin and Atlanta. Viewers can check out https://www.grubwithus.com/investigationdiscovery to get an advanced screening of REDRUM along with alerts for upcoming events. The promotion will be live on Investigation.Discovery.com, as well as the network's social pages including IDAddicts.com.

REDRUM is produced for Investigation Discovery by Stephen David Entertainment with Stephen David as executive producer, along with Randy Counsman and Randy Martin as co-executive producers.
