Season Finale of "BBQ PITMASTERS" Crowns a King of Kentucky on January 20

(Silver Spring, MD) - He's king of the grill and master of the BBQ competition circuit, but how does BBQ PITMASTERS judge Myron Mixon stack up as a dad... especially when the heir to the throne is now a competitor? The one-hour special, BBQ PITMASTERS: FATHER VS. SON features the King of 'Cue as he hits the road with the crowned prince by his side. Mixon and his son, Michael, are traveling America's barbecue circuit together, checking out the country's most revered BBQ joints, and most importantly, going head-to-head in a father/son cooking rivalry that will rock the roots of BBQ nation... or at least the Mixon family tree. BBQ PITMASTERS: FATHER VS. SON premieres Sunday, January 27 at 9pm E/P on Destination America.

"As THE network for BBQ, we've been delighted to serve up cross-country competitions with saucy smack talk and mounds of mouth-watering meat our viewers crave, said Marc Etkind, SVP of Content Strategy for Destination America. "Now we take a closer look at superstar judge and three-time World BBQ champ, Myron Mixon and his heir apparent Michael, as this their relationship takes a turn from teammates to competitors. The royal heat may be too much to handle!"

This season of BBQ PITMASATERS has featured fierce competitions among the best in regional barbecue traveling from Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, North Carolina, and now viewers will check out the greatest Kentucky 'cue in the season finale "Bluegrass, Bourbon & BBQ" premiering Sunday, January 20 at 9pm E/P. The Bluegrass state has one of the most unique and delicious BBQ traditions in the South as we head to the Annual Big Buffalo Crossing Barbecue Cook-Off. Contestants John Foreman of Old Hickory Bar-B-Que Restaurant, Roy Henry of Henry's Boogalou BBQ, and Mike Ramage of Still Smokin' BBQ have all been serving up old-school Kentucky BBQ since they were kids, and today they'll put their experience to the test. The challenge? Firing up two Kentucky staples: Mutton Shoulder, and Fresh Bone-in Ham. Who will walk away with the title of BBQ Pitmasters Kentucky Champion?
