SCIENCE CHANNEL UNLOCKS CABINETS OF CURIOSITY WITH THE RETURN OF "ODDITIES" AND THE SERIES PREMIERE OF "ODD FOLKS HOME"

Strange Saturdays at Science Channel Begin on Saturday, February 9 at 9:00PM ET/PT

(Silver Spring, MD) - Saturdays on Science Channel are about to get a whole lot weirder with a double helping of strange this February in the season four premiere of the hit series ODDITIES and the series premiere of ODDITIES' spin-off ODD FOLKS HOME. ODDITIES takes place at New York City's foremost destination for one-of-a-kind, bizarre and often shocking artifacts: Obscura Antiques & Oddities. This season, the gang at Obscura, which includes owners Mike Zohn and Evan Michelson, along with store buyer Ryan Matthew, face a new chapter as they relocate to a larger store and take an "Oddities-Style" road trip across the U.S. - garnering a little help from celebrity special guests including Dita Von Teese, Moby, and Fred Armisen. Season four of ODDITIES premieres SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9, at 9:00 PM (ET/PT).

The ODDITIES franchise, which has come to define oddball subculture on television, is also launching a new series hosted by everyone's favorite straightjacket connoisseur, Edgar Oliver. ODD FOLKS HOME follows some of Obscura's most loyal and unique customers inside their homes for a sneak peek at their macabre collections. The series premiere of ODD FOLKS HOME follows ODDITIES on Saturday, February 9, 9:30 PM (ET/PT) only on Science Channel.

"Since its premiere, ODDITIES has won over legions of viewers and inspired 'colorful' collectors throughout the U.S." said Debbie Adler Myers, General Manager and Executive Vice President of Science Channel. "Expanding our franchise with the addition of ODD FOLKS HOME is a perfect complement to the already established club of the odd and unusual subculture that Science Channel celebrates every day."

In this season of ODDITIES, neighborhood fixtures and purveyors of the peculiar, Michelson and Zohn, decide to expand their business and move Obscura Antiques & Oddities to a larger space in the East Village, but not just any space, a former funeral home. Buyer Matthew works with the team to make the new space a perfect fit for all of their unusual collectibles. The ODDITIES crew will also hit the road this year with a wonderfully weird road trip, identifying what other curious corners the team can uncover in the United States including stops in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Chicago, and Philadelphia -meeting a vast array of eccentrics along the way.

ODD FOLKS HOME takes viewers one step closer to their favorite characters, seeing what kooky creations they collect. The series follows home the country's weirdest and most obsessed collectors for a look at their unimaginable treasures and bizarre lifestyles. Audiences will get a look at their prized obsessions and a window into how they find, create and maintain their massive stockpile of strange.

ODDITIES and ODD FOLKS HOME are produced for SCIENCE by Leftfield Pictures. Bernadette McDaid is vice president of production and executive producer along with Josh Berkley. Lindsey Foster is the coordinating producer for SCIENCE. David George and Brent Montgomery are executive producers for Leftfield.

ODDITIES SEASON FOUR EPISODE DESCRIPTIONS:

Saturday, February 9 at 9:00 PM ET/PT

Mike, Evan, and Ryan are on their annual trip to LA to uncover the weird side of that city. Ryan meets with celebrity and burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese. She asks him to find a piece of exotic bird taxidermy to add to her collection. Mike and Evan deliver a few medical devises to John Moschitta Jr. who at one time held the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest talking man. They meet at the amazingly odd Bunny Museum where there are over 29,000 bunnies on display (mostly toys). They also deliver an antique Orrery for musician Moby. Mike and Evan close out the trip with a visit to California Institute of Abnormal Arts, where they witness a sideshow performer do the "ladder or knives" walk and jump into a pile of broken glass.

Saturday, February 16 at 9:00 PM ET/PT

In this episode Evan and Mike are opening the shop in their new location. Ryan suggests they have a small "grand opening" party for their loyal customers. They decide that the shop needs a new display piece to add to their permanent collection, and plan to unveil it at the party. They all fan out to find the perfect item. Edgar Oliver, Monique, Robot Mike, Andy the Animal, Laure and others come by to wish them well and see the new item.

Saturday, February 23 at 9:00 PM (ET/PT)

Yossi brings in a wooden mannequin to sell that turns out to be one of the first CPR dummies worth a pretty penny. Gooby sets Evan and Ryan on a quest for a tumor-ridden biological item to remind him of his Mom. Mike buys a quack medical device called the Electricure from Purple Pam. Evan and Ryan present Gooby with a wet specimen of a sliced diseased foot, but will he love it?

Saturday, March 2 at 9:00 PM (ET/PT)

Andy Animal comes into the shop and tries to sell Ryan an antique Chamber Pot. A photographer with a one-of-a-kind, jewel-encrusted, skull pin-hole camera needs props for his shoot. A burlesque performer comes into the shop looking for a dead pet. Evan shows her the charms of pickled dogfish shark, with which she falls in love!. Ryan loans the shop two of his unique creations as props for the photographer's shoot. Mike purchases a rare whale hip bone that washed up on the beach in NJ.

Saturday, March 9 at 9:00 PM (ET/PT)

Reverend Jen, a self-described urban elf, comes in looking for an antique Ouija Board. Ted, commissions the shop to find an ear, nose and throat-related item that he plans to give to his doctor as a thank you gift for curing his cancer. A sideshow performer displays for Ryan feats of pain tolerance in hopes of getting a discount on a medical device used for opening a patient's rib cage. Mike and Evan present three items to Ted that shock and please him.

ODD FOLKS HOME EPISODE DESCRIPTIONS:

Saturday, February 9 at 9:30PM (ET/PT)

Death & Taxidermy

Edgar shares: an eccentric fellow who has let the skeletons out of his closet and into his abode. Behind stained glass windows, he rescues specimens left for dead to live an afterlife in his home. Then, an intriguing young lady harvests highways for her reanimating pleasure. She resurrects the childhood pastime of collecting stuffed animals, but with a very deadly twist. Later, a man who has made his house a shrine to the labors of a deceased genius, conjures ghostly harmonies from restored phonographs numbering in the thousands.

Saturday, February 16 at 9:30PM (ET/PT)

Night of the Living Robots

Today, Edgar shares: a mysterious man who puts the sin into cinematography. This director arouses inspiration from his mechanical muses as he makes the next generation of fantasy films. Then, a quirky clan suffers from an insatiable appetite for collecting bizarre golden-aged goodies. Elephants stomp and bears chomp as this family's houseguests attempt to withstand an incurable case of hoarding the horrid. Later, a devilish master of disguise prefers life behind a veil to facing it in his own skin. While spooking the public with putrid masks, the question arises: does he wear the mask or does the mask wear him?

Saturday, February 23 at 9:30PM (ET/PT)

Blow Off Some Steampunk:

Today, Edgar shares: an artistic couple who celebrates Victorian fantasy by living a steamy dual life. They blur the boundary between science fiction and mad science, as their mechanical creativity commences. Then a young virtuoso, comforted more by the occult pieces he crafts than the notes he produces, looks to the dead and deformed to provide music to his ears. Later, a man satisfies his primal nature by sewing up his animal instincts and granting deceased creatures a second life in a mounted sanctuary.

Saturday, March 2 at 9:30PM (ET/PT)

When a Man... is a Woman:

Today, Edgar shares: a walking work of art who has created one identity from two souls. True love forges an inseparable bond as she displays an exhibit made from a marriage of blood, sweat and skin. Then, a collecting couple whose passion for each other can only be measured in volts. Life together gets hair-raising as they exercise to keep the spark of their electrifying appliances and relationship alive. Later, a macabre yet romantic young woman introduces bone articulation into her love life, sharing her closet's skeletons and scaring an unsuspecting suitor.
