New science and technology series premieres Monday, February 11 after Top Gear

New York - February 1, 2013 - Hot on the heels of the Top Gear season premiere, fans are invited stick around for another batch of spectacular stunts and crazy innovations in the U.S. premiere of BBC's popular science series Bang Goes the Theory. From turning a square-wheeled skateboard into a motorbike, to blowing over a brick house with a vortex cannon, to an experiment avoiding jetlag - the team demonstrates cutting edge developments in technology and explains the scientific principles that govern the world around us. Nothing is off limits to host Dallas Campbell, biochemist Liz Bonnin, engineer Jem Stansfield and evolutionary biologist Dr. Yan Wong, as they make science both inspiring and engaging by answering today's trickiest questions. Bang Goes the Theory premieres Monday, February 11, 10:20pm ET/PT after a new episode of Top Gear on BBC AMERICA.

EPISODE ONE - premieres February 11, 10:20pm ET/PT Challenge: Blow over a brick house with a vortex cannon. EPISODE TWO - premieres February 18, 10:20pm ET/PT. Challenge: Attempt to smash the land speed record with the help of a fire extinguisher and a go-kart. Investigate: What will happen when the world's oil supply runs dry? Meet: The real CSI scientists working with the police to solve crimes. Question: Why are clouds white?

EPISODE THREE- premieres February 25, 10:20pm ET/PT. Challenge: Upgrade a square-wheeled skateboard into a motorbike then attempt to jump it into the record books. Investigate: Jetlag and how to avoid it. Meet: The Royal Observatory's Dr Marek Kukula who answers the questions about the solar system, including what happens when the sun's fuel runs out.

EPISODE FOUR - premieres March 4, 10:20pm ET/PT. Challenge: Build a boat out of ice and go for a spin in one of the UK's busiest stretches of water. Explore: The world of comets and how to build one. Investigate: The science behind hypothermia.

EPISODE FIVE - premieres March 11, 10:20pm ET/PT. Explore: An optical illusion. Investigate: What makes stuff sticky? Meet: The team behind a 1,000mph car.
