Development Update: Thursday, May 9 - The CW Picks Up Four Dramas

Below are series that The CW is picking up for the 2013-14 season (via The CW's press release):

THE 100

From Warner Bros TV/Alloy Entertainment, the series is set 97 years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization. A spaceship housing the lone human survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth to investigate the possibility of re-colonizing the planet. Based on the Alloy books by Kass Morgan. Eliza Taylor, Isaiah Washington, Henry Ian Cusick, Marie Avgeropoulos, Paige Turco, Kelly Hu, Christopher Larkin, and Thomas McDonell star. Jason Rothenberg wrote and exec produced with Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo, Bahrat Nalluri and Matt Miller. Nalluri directed the pilot and Miller is showrunner.

OXYGEN

Passion and politics threaten the peace and an epic romance ignites between a human girl and an alien boy when he and eight others of his kind (The Orion 9) are integrated into a suburban high school 10 years after they and hundreds of others landed on Earth and were immediately consigned to an internment camp where they've been imprisoned ever since. From CBS TV Studios, Olé Prods, Isla de Babel and 360 Powwow. Meredith Averill wrote and exec produces with Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec, Scott Rosenberg, Richard Shepard, Bryan Furst, Sean Furst and Daniel Gutman. Gary Fleder directed the pilot. Aimee Teegarden stars with Matt Lanter, Malese Jow, Titus Makin Jr, Grey Damon, Natalie Hall, Chelsea Gilligan, Greg Finley, and Maggie Elizabeth Jones.

REIGN

The CBS TV Studios-produced drama tells the previously unknown story of Mary Queen of Scots' rise to power when she arrives in France as a 15-year-old, betrothed to Prince Francis, and with her three best friends as ladies-in-waiting. The secret history of survival at French Court amidst fierce foes, dark forces, and a world of sexual intrigue. Stephanie Sengupta and Laurie McCarthy are the writers/executive producers and Brad Silberling directed the pilot. Adelaide Kane stars with Anna Popplewell, Toby Regbo, Celina Sinden, Megan Follows, Janessa Grant, Caitlin Stasey, Torrance Coombs and Rossif Sutherland.

THE TOMORROW PEOPLE

From Warner Bros TV, Berlanti TV and FremantleMedia, Tomorrow People is the story of several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically. Together they work to defeat the forces of evil. Based upon the original UK series created by Roger Price in the vein of X-Men and Heroes. Robbie Amell, Madeleine Mantock, Peyton List, Luke Mitchell, Mark Pellegrino, and Aaron Yoo star. Phil Klemmer is the writer and executive producer with Julie Plec, Greg Berlanti and Danny Cannon, who also directed the pilot. Melissa Kellner Berman is co-exec producer.
