ADVOCATES, THE (CBS/Warner Bros.; W: Bruno Heller; D: David Nutter) - The Eye has passed on the drama pilot, about an ex-con (Ben McKenzie) and a lawyer (Mandy Moore) - both former childhood sweethearts - who team up as victim advocates. Producer Warner Bros. Television reportedly plans to shop the project elsewhere. Brit Morgan, CCH Pounder and Esai Morales also starred. (Deadline.com)
SEAN SAVES THE WORLD (NBC/Universal; W: Victor Fresco; D: James Burrows) - Lindsay Sloane is exiting the newly ordered comedy, about a divorced gay dad (Sean Hayes) juggling the demands of his job and family. She played Sean's co-worker/friend Liz, a former therapist who quit because she had too many opinions and couldn't listen to people talk about their problems without telling them what to do. No other details were given. Echo Kellum, Linda Lavin and Samantha Isler also star. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - ABC has closed its deal with "The Neighbors" for a second season order (Deadline.com); "The Real Housewives of New York" cast members Ramona Singer, Carole Radziwill, LuAnn de Lesseps, Heather Thomson, Sonja Morgan and Aviva Drescher have all signed on to return for the show's sixth season (Deadline.com)
; and Kenny Johnson will recur on "Dexter's" final season as "a no-nonsense and formidable lawman who is hired by P.I. Jacob Elway (Sean Patrick Flanery) to hunt down an infamous criminal" (TVLine.com).
