AMERICAN PSYCHO (FX, New!) - Stefan Jaworski (A&E's "Those Who Kill") is spearheading a small screen take on Bret Easton Ellis's novel-turned-feature, about wealthy investment banker Patrick Bateman (played by Christian Bale) who leads a secret life as a serial killer in the late-1980s. Jaworski's take will be set in the present day with a now 50-something Bateman, "as outrageous and lethal as ever, taking on a protégé in a sadistic social experiment who will become every bit his equal - a next-generation American Psycho." Lionsgate Television and FX Productions are producing with Allison Shearmur and Ed Pressman also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)

CLOTHING OPTIONAL (FOX, New!) - Scott King ("The Neighbors") has likewise booked a new comedy at the network about "a family who own and operate a wholesome all-inclusive resort but suddenly must put their morality and better judgment on hold when a scandal rocks their hotel and they decide to just go with it and turn the place into a Clothing Optional resort to keep the business afloat." (Deadline.com)

MAN ON FIRE (FOX, New!) - A.J. Quinnell's novel-turned-feature - about John Creasy (played by Denzel Washington), "a despondent former CIA operative/Force Recon Marine officer turned bodyguard, who goes on a revenge rampage after his charge, nine-year-old Pita Ramos (Dakota Fanning), is abducted in Mexico" - is being eyed as a potential drama series at the network. The TV series will then pick up 18 years later as Creasy reconnects with Pita. 20th Century Fox Television is behind the hour, to be penned David DiGilio. New Regency's Arnon Milchan, Brad Weston and Andrew Plotkin will also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)

Bucatinsky will pen the script and executive produce alongside Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers of the ABC Studios-based Shondaland. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED KERRY EHRIN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Kerry Ehrin ("Bates Motel") has booked a potential drama at the Peacock about "two unlikely female partners in the Boston PD - one a fortysomething single mom with a ton of baggage, the other an ambitious Latina twentysomething wannabe-hotshot with a lot to learn." (Deadline.com)

THE WORST BEST THING (FOX, New!) - Newcomer Barry Schwartz has set up a single-camera comedy at the network billed as "an edgy, docu-style comedy about three couples - two with new babies and one who's expecting - who have known each other since grade school and are very angry at all the people who lied to them about how wonderful and beautiful having babies is." Greg Malins ("Ground Floor") and Seth Gordon ("The Goldbergs") are also on board to executive produce the half-hour, which is set up at Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)
