DIY NETWORK REVEALS WINTER HAVEN, FLA. AS THE 2014 LOCATION FOR ITS POPULAR INTERACTIVE SERIES AND SWEEPSTAKES "BLOG CABIN"

NEW YORK - [For Immediate Release -- November 21, 2013] - DIY Network's Blog Cabin, the first-ever interactive home-building television series, announces the town of Winter Haven, Fla. as the location for the series' eighth season. Beginning in January 2014, DIY Network and DIYNetwork.com invite viewers nationwide to help renovate a 1920s lakeside home by casting their online votes to select the home's new design features. The results of the home's transformation will be featured in the new season of Blog Cabin premiering in July 2014, offering a chance for one lucky viewer to win the ultimate vacation getaway. In addition, fans can catch a first glimpse at this year's Blog Cabin destination on TravelChannel.com.

"This year's location is absolutely awesome," said Grundy. "It has beautiful lakeside views and is just minutes away from popular Orlando attractions. I'm sure it will be another Blog Cabin I'd like to live in myself. With the help of my fellow DIY Network experts, viewers and fans, we're going to transform this historic home into a one of a kind luxury retreat."

Originally built in 1924 for the first elected president of the Citrus Growers Association, this year's Blog Cabin features all original interiors and exteriors, a fruit cellar and basement furnace - thus making it a true slice of local history. The home will be moved to a breathtaking five-acre waterfront lot overlooking Florida's Lake Hamilton, best known for family fun, waterskiing and boating. Hosted by Chris Grundyof Cool Tools and Blog Cabin, the eighth season will feature a team of DIY Network's expert hosts as they move, transform and renovate the property into a 2,500 sq. ft. home perfect for living the lakeside lifestyle.

Viewers and fans are encouraged to visit DIYNetwork.com/BlogCabin from their computers, mobile devices, phones and tablets to participate in interactive blogs, videos and photos and to vote on design elements of the 2014 Blog Cabin, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 7. Fans also can stay up to date with the latest renovations by becoming a fan of DIY Network on Facebook and following DIY Network on Twitter and Instagram.
